The main component of the helmet shell on the AGV K-5 Jet is carbon fiber. The fiberglass helmet shell comes in two different sizes to contain all helmet sizes as tight as possible. You're either a racing brand or you're not, and that results in very compact, sleek and lightweight motorcycle helmets.
Apart from this - open-face - version, the K5 of course also exists in the closed full-face version.
With two helmet shells AGV keeps the weight of the K-5 Jet well below 1400 grams. Not even that much for a helmet with an integrated sun visor. Even though its name and homologation restrict it to the "jet helmet" category, the K-5 Jet is a quiet and complete helmet, which doesn't feel too open.
By jet helmet standards, there are many (three) independently operated vents. Add to that the closable outlets in the spoiler, and it’s clear that there are a lot of ventilation possibilities.
The transparent scratch-resistant visor is prepared for an optional Pinlock® lens, which may not be a luxury. In the closed position - with the two little magnets on the left and right side - the feeling of really being 'inside' the helmet is even stronger. Flip out the integrated sun visor and you completely forget you're on the road with a jet helmet. This is also an anti-scratch specimen and just like the transparent visor you can remove and replace it without any tools.
Extra attention was paid to a better - read: wider - peripheral vision, something which AGV pays plenty of attention to in any motorcycle helmet.
The interior mainly consists of Dry-Comfort and those two words say a lot about the features. All parts that make up the beautifully finished interior are washable.
The micrometric closure is adjustable.
For maintenance of this helmet we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the outside. For cleaning the interior, without removing it, you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment is less effective after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from streetlights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
