The Callan Soft Wash is a genuine pair of motorcycle jeans, which means that it shows a little bit. Well, with a lot of stretch material and fine accordion panels you can’t deny that you’re travelling by motorbike. And you get a lot of comfort in return.
Some motorcycle jeans try hard to look like ‘regular’ jeans trousers. The Callan by Modeka saves itself the trouble. The transverse (accordion) stretch panels above the knees even resemble those of actual motorcycle trousers. Even the insides of both upper legs were fitted with a piece of stretch material. That it only exists in black is the reason why we personally prefer this complete black version of the Callan Soft Wash over the blue.
The Modeka Callan Soft Wash is made of high-quality denim with stretch (2% elastane) and has been fitted with DuPont™ Kevlar® in all the critical places: hips, knees and seat. The SAS-TEC protectors on the knees can be removed easily but are also minimalistic (read: thin) so the option doesn’t even occur to you. Fitting an optional hip protector SAS-TEC SC-1/07 of SC-1/KA is quick and easy. These are summer trousers, without a doubt. The exterior (aged denim with a stone wash finish) is not waterproof. The ventilation zipper on the outside of each upper leg takes away any final doubt: summer.
The Modeka Callan Soft Wash has a so-called tapered regular fit, which is somewhere in between ‘pretty straight down’ and ‘a little tighter around the ankles’. It certainly feels comfortable on the motorbike.
It goes without saying that these motorcycle trousers, with five pockets and a sturdy button and zipper closure, can be washed without issues. If you turn over the bottom of the trouser legs, reflective strips appear.
