The lines and the design look and feel familiar. The lightweight Avro D2 is a pleasurable appearance. A textile motorcycle jacket with a fat wink towards the thoroughbred leather motorcycle jackets that links touring qualities to a sporty look.
The wear-resistant D-Synth 350-material was given a fitting cut: short and sporty. The textile lining from a genuine racing motorcycle jacket, that’s the gist. The ventilation openings on the chest and the removable thermal lining illustrate that textile is just a smidgeon more versatile than leather and this turns the Avro D2 into an approachable, easy, pleasurable and slick motorbike jacket. Wear it and twist it, like it should.
Don’t confuse ‘easy’ with ‘less’, either: the shoulders got an internal protector/slider in polyurethane and the removable composite protectors on the elbows and again the shoulders are CE-certified and sturdy. A back protector can be fitted yourself if you want.
Both ventilation openings on the chest – the long outlets are evidently placed on the back – ensure a pleasant climate in summer, together with the breathing mesh lining, while the removable thermal lining takes care of an extra layer of heat in winter. By the way, it’s okay to confuse ‘easy’ with ‘lighter’. This is a very comfortable motorcycle jacket, not a coatrack destroyer.
There’s a little elastic material hidden inside the Avro D2, so it should fit snugly and sporty. The short cut matches the racing design. There are a number of individual adjustment options on the sleeve ends (buttons), collar (buttons) and the waist (Velcro).
Two slash pockets with zip on the outside, two inner pockets and an
additional compartment in the thermal lining; this should do plenty to carry
just enough with you without disturbing the sporty design. The connecting zipper
is part of the tried and tested and announced as comfortable elastic DAINESE
system that allows you to effortlessly connect motorbike trousers
and create
one unit.
The reflective accents are barely visible during the day but perform perfectly efficient during the evening and at night.
