A sequel is supposed to be better than a predecessor. Unless we're talking about movies. The Vapor 2 Pants is not a quick-fix sequel, so it sits right, literally and figuratively.
Compared to its predecessor, the PWR|500D-stretch is now closer to the groin. This creates even more freedom of movement. The protective PWR shell 500D, supplemented with ripstop, has not been touched and that means that the whole outer shell of the Vapor 2 is tear and abrasion resistant.
Underneath - actually inside - is an integrated, waterproof and breathable hydratex® membrane, which immediately increases versatility and usability of these pants. Especially since you also have a removable thermal lining, which should be enough to ride all year round. Especially if you use the relatively long ventilation zippers on the thighs.
REV'IT is not a fan of flapping tent sails, so the Vapor 2 has a racing cut. You don't need a shoe-puller to get in, but it can be pretty tight. For that reason, you have the necessary adjustment straps and ties, and the SEEFLEX™ Level 2 CE knee protectors in adjustable pockets. The latter are assisted by a pair of SEESMART™ CE-level 1 hip protectors.
The rest of the Vapor 2 excels in REV'IT quality. Things we take for granted, although that's certainly not always the case. But then again, the longer lower back, stretch panels, the grippy panel and the YKK front closure (closed is really closed!), the easy entry and exit, the two side pockets, the attention to detail ... we are spoiled.
The matching jacket has the same name and the connecting zippers are made for it, even though they are also compatible with almost all other jackets in the REV'IT range. Although we prefer the Vapor 2 jacket .
