When we think of places like Key West and the word 'marine' is somewhere near, we think of sand, beach and sea. And that's where - strangely enough - these Key West motorcycle gloves would fit quite nicely.
They fit, let’s say that first. These are tight, close-fitting and a bit atypical motorcycle gloves. Polyester and neoprene are materials best known for their 'feel': soft, shiny, usually in a finishing role. Here they form a large part of the base and that takes some getting used to. As soon as you realize that the other half is Amara, you realize that the Keywest is not only very summery, but also very strong and durable.
Who is used to leather motorcycle gloves, will have to get used to these. Those of you who have ever wriggled into a diving suit (Key West?) will be on completely familiar territory. Hence our confusion at the beginning of this article.
Apart from that, these are of course very efficient and practical motorcycle gloves. They don't hide their summery character: they are thin, light, and apart from an internal knuckle protector which is still flexible, there is little extra to discover. The palm is reinforced, the right materials are in the right place, and with a velcro closure on the short cuff and touchscreen-compatible fingertips, these Keywest motorcycle gloves - especially in blue - even have something futuristic about them.
The typical Segura 70 logo on the back of the hand doesn’t change that. It doesn’t have to.
