The Inertia H2O is a brand-new motorcycle jacket that links the best elements of a couple of other touring motorcycle jackets to a sportier concept. Waterproof laminated, ventilated and with an unzippable thermal lining, the Inertia H2O is bound to be an all-rounder.
The first thing we notice is that the cut is definitely shorter than we’d expect in most touring motorcycle jackets. No three-quarter length, but the sporty, short style of the more athletic members of the family. This creates the Inertia H2O, an all-in-one sporty motorcycle jacket that keeps you dry and safe.
The unique, laminated 2L polyester – supplemented on the shoulders and sleeves with PWR|Shell ripstop 2L – that takes on the lion’s share of the first line of defence is a pleasant piece of technology. Pleasant, as in: it feels supple and soft, where laminated motorcycle jackets are often more robust or unwilling. Not here. Notwithstanding that softness, the Inertia H2O remains a waterproof (and breathing) motorcycle jacket.
One that has been equipped with plenty of wide ventilation panels at the topside of the chest area. Complete in REV’IT! style, with aquadefence (a little ‘gutter’) and magnet, for easy operation during your ride. Together with the ventilation zips on the upper arms and the air outlets in the back, this delivers a top level of ventilation. Don’t forget: laminated… In less than a minute, the entire package is waterproofed again. Hidden underneath all that is an unzippable thermal lining, to keep temperature fluctuations in check. A storm collar – that is as easily removed as it is reattached – seems to emphasise that ‘bring on the rain’ attitude even more.
With SEEFLEX™ Level 2 CE shoulder and elbow protection, REV’IT! doesn’t drop the ball. This motorcycle jacket is prepared to fit a SEESOFT™ RV or SEESOFT™ Air CE-level 2 back protector and/or similar chest protector. The reflective material at REV’IT! is usually limited to logo and name, as it is here. On the other hand, if these perform accordingly, you can be sure of proper visibility in bad conditions.
If you want to stay sporty with a wide range at the same time with regard to weather conditions, it’s desirable to have a number of fine adjustments.
There’s Velcro on the sleeve ends. The sides and upper arms were given an elastic insert. On the lower arms and the waist, an adjustable strap and a drawstring take care of the correct fit. The collar without-storm-in-front-of-it is low and closes together with the central zip.
The storage space is relatively limited in the Inertia H2O. More than a pure racing motorcycle jacket, less than a true world traveller. Makes perfect sense in a motorcycle jacket like this. Two slash pockets with zipper, a map compartment on the left forearm and a convenient (yes, indeed) storage compartment on the lower back, to keep the thermal lining close-by. Add another inner pocket or two and an inner pocket in the lining and the total package is more than enough.
Combining this with the Inertia H2O motorcycle trousers is – especially due to the specific nature and choice of materials – evident.
