Organic EC brake pads are first and foremost budget-friendly brake pads, suitable for scooters and off-road use with generally lower top speeds. A short run-in period leads to maximum braking power. Dry conditions guarantee extra lifetime. The EC-blocks are mounted on a metal carrier plate. An asbestos-free organic brake pad, also called Standard Brake Pad, is manufactured from cellulose (fibreglass, ground cardboard and mineral filler) and a phenol-based binder. This combination creates a heat-resistant resin, which hardens at higher temperatures. The good friction properties of organic brake pads require less force on the brake lever. At low temperatures, a standard brake pad is also virtually silent. For normal, everyday use of a motorcycle on public roads, this type of brake pad is perfectly suited. They are also cheap.
