This Dominator 3 GTX is the successor - and visual update - to the Dominator GTX, which back then we already said was the most functional motorcycle jacket ever. REV'IT! has opted for a new outer fabric, a little extra functionality where possible, and a visual upgrade.
Of course, it's not easy to make 'the most functional motorcycle jacket ever' even better. Still, they seem to have succeeded in adding elements here and there that already move up a level. World travelers and off-road veterans have given their feedback on the original Dominator GTX, so everything has been thought of. Water in the first place. The laminated GORE-TEX® remains, making this jacket 100% waterproof as well. Laminated GORE TEX® means that a waterproof GORE TEX® membrane is bonded (laminated) directly to the outer fabric. This ensures that water does not find its way in, the jacket does not become heavy and dries extremely quickly. This is close to perfection when it comes to protection against rain.
The 2-layer GORE TEX® and 3-layer GORE TEX® Pro is supplemented and reinforced on the outside with Armacor. Especially on the shoulders, elbows and forearms they leave very little doubt: this is wear- and tear-resistance that is almost unmatched.
Featuring SEEFLEX™ level 2 CE protectors on the elbows and shoulders, and a SEESOFT CE-level 2 back protector as standard, the Dominator 3 GTX looks more like armor than a jacket, judging by the impressive list. You can add a SEESOFT™ chest protector as you see fit.
Make no mistake though: in armor, a knight could hardly move. The Dominator 3 GTX allows you to do just that. The right material in the right place, plenty of stretch and accordion fabric, and customization options that seem to go on indefinitely have a lot to do with that. In an attempt to list them in part: the flexisnap at the collar, height-adjustable straps on the flanks and on the upper and lower arms are the most important, which basically allow you to customize the entire Dominator. If this jacket doesn't fit perfectly, it's not because of the jacket anymore.
Most notable in the list are the removable cuffs in stretch material that shield your hands and wrists from the weather elements, thus keeping your whole arm and upper body better at temperature.
In addition, the storm collar - which is removable and stows away in the large storage area at the back - protects you from the harshest conditions.
The innovative VCS | aquadefence system with FidLock® magnetic closure, provides excellent ventilation when open. When riding, you can easily close it watertight with one hand. The aquadefence consists of a 'gutter' around the ventilation hole, preventing moisture from entering. The improved VCS|Zipper system provides additional (direct) ventilation openings. The ventilation zippers on the upper and lower arm were repositioned to better direct the airflow towards the body.
’All-round' in case of weather conditions is actually an underestimation when it comes to the Dominator 3 GTX.
Should we ever ride our bikes to China, this will be our first choice.
The jacket is prepared for a Connector HV vest. Just like its predecessor, the Dominator 3 GTX comes standard with a removable kidney belt. Excuse me? Yes, Sir. You never know what happens underneath your wheels on the way to China.
The space you have to store your belongings is unimaginable. Side pockets, storage pockets, a sleeve pocket, inner pockets, backpack, hidden pocket (that one, we'll let you discover) ... There's plenty to go around.
This description is not complete. We're sorry, but with a jacket like the Dominator 3 GTX that’s simply impossible. We're sure we'll discover more - still on our way to China - somewhere halfway Mongolia. The more we look, wear and feel, the more we are convinced that this is indeed the most functional jacket ever. This is a jacket you have to put on, use and 'experience'. The latter has become a buzzword and lost 80% of its value, but once upon a time it was invented - quite rightly - for motorcycle jackets like the Dominator 3 GTX.
The short and double long connection zippers also allow you to combine in all comfort and freedom. The Dominator 3 GTX pants and gloves are the first choice.
