Thermal lining

The "Thermal liner" specification indicates whether a motorcycle jacket includes an additional insulating layer to provide warmth in cold weather.

Possible configurations:

• Full thermal liner with sleeves – provides warmth throughout the entire jacket.
• Sleeveless thermal body – insulates the torso while allowing more freedom of movement and ventilation for the arms.
• Fixed or removable liner – a removable liner allows the jacket to be adapted to warmer weather and different riding conditions.

Not every motorcycle jacket includes a thermal liner. This can be for two reasons:

• Summer jackets where ventilation and comfort in warm weather are the priority.
• Technical or premium models where manufacturers assume riders already own a high-quality thermal midlayer to wear separately.
