Description Midland Bikeplay X BMW
The Midland Bikeplay X BMW connects your smartphone directly to your motorcycle's dashboard. The 6.2-inch Full HD screen supports Android Auto (not Apple!) and mirrors the main functions of your smartphone (so no iPhone): navigation, music, calls and messages. This way, you keep an overview without having to reach for your phone on the road.
The device has been specifically developed for the BMW Nav Prep V/VI system and can be installed without any modifications to your motorcycle. You simply click the screen onto the original mount, which is designed for this purpose, and it immediately communicates with your motorcycle.
Control via the BMW Wonderwheel
You operate the Bikeplay X BMW via the familiar Wonderwheel on your handlebars. It lets you navigate smoothly through the menus on the road, confirm selections and manage the main functions without taking your hands off the handlebars.
Touchscreen, even with gloves on
Naturally, the touchscreen also responds when you are wearing motorcycle gloves, so you can easily operate the screen during a stop as well.
The automatic brightness control adapts the screen to the lighting conditions. The screen is also waterproof to IP67, runs on 12 V and comes with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as standard.
BMW compatibility
Do you ride a BMW R 1300 GS? Then you use the slim Connected Ride mount.
For the R 1250 GS and GS Adventure, the R 1200 GS and GS Adventure, the F 900 GS and F 900 XR, the F 850 GS and the F 800 GS, choose the rectangular MountCradle mount.
Both systems connect to your motorcycle's original mounting point, for a stable and secure installation.
With the Bikeplay X BMW, you create a direct connection between your smartphone and your motorcycle, fully tailored to the dashboard and controls of your BMW.
The RAD specialist's opinion
Do you need yet another screen on your motorcycle? Well, yes, as it happens.
That is to say: the Midland Bikeplay X BMW naturally replaces the smartphone or TomTom in your cockpit. So it is not a screen on top of another screen; it is a clean, sleek and purpose-built solution that brings many functions together in a single overview. And yes, that is certainly handy.
Not least because, in this case, your motorcycle is prepared for it. Operation is therefore intuitive and smooth. That helps.
One point to bear in mind is that this Midland X BMW is only compatible with Android. Then again, that only applies to one half of smartphone users, of course.
