Sporty touring, with its own ankle system
The Gaerne G_RX GORE-TEX is a sport-oriented touring boot from the Gaerne range. But it still remains a touring boot. Microfibre, a Gore-Tex ePE Performance Membrane, PU shin protection and Gaerne’s own Floating Pivot System: this model gets the very best out of a touring boot. Not for the track, then, but for the rider who wants more from road use than the standard.
Who is this motorcycle boot for?
The G_RX is aimed at the sportier touring rider who does not want to give up protection or riding feel, even in changing weather or all year round. All-season, a full motorcycle boot, for men, with a size range from EU 39–48. This is not the ideal model for anyone who wants to wear their motorcycle boot as casual footwear off the bike. Here, the “motorcycle” part is not easy to hide.
Material and construction
The outer side of the G_RX is made from microfibre: light, hard-wearing and easy to shape precisely around the boot’s protective structure. The front and rear sections have inserts that refine the fit. The anatomically shaped PU shin plate provides frontal protection.
A PU gear-shift reinforcement protects the microfibre at the point where it meets the shift lever. Ankle protectors are fitted on both sides. The removable anatomical insole is breathable and supportive during extended use. A replaceable toe slider makes it easy to replace wear caused by contact with the footpeg.
The Gaerne Floating Pivot System
GFPS is the G_RX’s defining technical feature. This ankle pivot system provides lateral support that helps resist both compression and hyperextension, while preserving the foot’s natural movement on the footpegs. That balance between support and freedom is exactly what a sport touring boot should offer, and GFPS delivers it very clearly in (riding) practice.
Waterproofing
The GORE-TEX ePE Performance Membrane keeps rain out while allowing perspiration to escape. It is the same PFAS-free membrane variant used in other models from Gaerne’s touring range, here combined with the sportier construction of the G_RX. The all-season classification confirms that this motorcycle boot can be used throughout the year.
Protection and certification
The Gaerne G_RX Gore-Tex is CE-certified to EN 13634:2017. PU shin protection, PU ankle protectors and a PU gear-shift reinforcement cover the critical zones.
Closure and fit
The G_RX closes with a zipper, backed up by a Velcro panel for extra shaft retention. That combination gives a secure, adjustable fit that can still be operated quickly, even with motorcycle gloves on.

The opinion of our RAD specialist
The G_RX Gore-Tex is a sporty touring boot in the Gaerne range, and it shows. The GFPS (Gaerne Floating Pivot System) gives noticeably more control and feedback than a standard touring boot. Gore-Tex adds waterproofing for riders who are on the road all year. That already gives you a strong package. Price-wise, it also remains fairly sharp for a motorcycle boot like this.
For the sport-oriented touring rider who does not want to compromise on comfort or protection, the G_RX is a logical choice. Anyone looking for a true racing boot will naturally need to look further in the Gaerne range, and pay more for it as well. This is a lot of motorcycle boot already. And anyone who likes that will appreciate exactly what it offers.
