‘The Force returns’. And the GP Force v2 motorcycle jacket from Alpinestars returns with improvements. This is a cowhide, distinctly sporty motorcycle jacket in which Alpinestars combines aggressive styling with a flexible construction that delivers exceptional protection and comfort.
The GP Force v2 is compatible with Tech‑Air airbag systems.
Cowhide remains an excellent base material for any motorcycle jacket with sporting ambitions. The construction uses multiple panels of soft cowhide leather, resulting in a strong, wear and tear‑resistant chassis. Strategically placed wear‑resistant stretch panels in key areas combine a similarly tough base (the word ‘base’ hardly does it justice here) with reduced weight and increased freedom of movement while riding.
The ‘sport fit’ is almost race‑suit tight, aimed at active motorcycle riders who want maximum protection in a comfortable cut. ‘Almost’, because the design has to allow enough room to fit a Tech‑Air airbag system. That margin is provided by accordion stretch inserts that expand when the airbag inflates. Without an airbag, these panels deliver a superior anatomical fit and optimal riding comfort. A degree of pre‑shaping and pre‑curved elbows help reduce fatigue on the road or track.
The removable thermal liner also creates some room you will not find in a pure MotoGP race suit. It adds extra warmth in changeable conditions, while zippered ventilation openings on the sides allow direct cooling. Suede cuffs feature an ergonomic design to maximise comfort on the motorcycle, and a soft collar further improves wearability. Integrated waist adjustment allows you to fine‑tune the fit with or without the thermal liner.
When Alpinestars adds ‘GP’ to a product name, you can assume the know‑how comes from the right place. Low‑profile Nucleon Flex Plus Level 1 shoulder protectors deliver effective impact protection, while GP Lite Evo DFS (Dynamic Friction Shield) sliders on the shoulders add extra protection in a critical area. Nucleon PLASMA Plus Level 1 elbow protectors offer superior impact protection with extremely low weight and a high degree of flexibility.
The chest compartment is designed for Alpinestars dual chest protectors, which are available as an option. The GP Force v2 can also take both regular and long back protectors, also optional. Reflective details stay discreet in daylight but do their job in low‑light conditions.
You will not find extensive ‘travelling-round‑the‑world’ storage here. The pockets that are present barely stand out, helping keep the design and lines clean. A water‑resistant inner pocket provides secure space for your essentials. Velcro covers the zip pullers at the cuffs and collar. There are Velcro waist adjusters, but the expectation is that the GP Force v2 fits snugly straight off the hanger.
This motorcycle jacket meets EN 17092 – Class AA and is CE Category II certified. Logical combinations include both quality motorcycle jeans and Alpinestars leather motorcycle trousers, which pair very well with the GP Force v2.
