The 12.5 is an unadulterated, contemporary jet helmet. With a double thermoplastic helmet shell, an integrated sun visor and a transparent visor, this has some substance to it.
With ‘substance’, we might be exaggerating it a little bit. This is more than an old-fashioned brain bucket and less than a full-blown full-face helmet but you do get to enjoy lots of protection and comfort. The 12.5 ‘open face’ is made in thermoplastic and two motorcycle helmet shells contain all the motorcycle helmet sizes, accounting for 1,300 grams on the scales, which really isn’t all that bad if you think about it.
The 12.5 from GIVI has a longer design, which is nicely rounded out by the transparent visor. Literally and figuratively. The integrated sun visor, but also the top ventilation and the outlet in the back throw a little more weight in the scale. Nevertheless, all these elements combined do provide a very complete and comfortable jet helmet.
Both visors and the top ventilation are easy to operate, even with motorcycle gloves on. The slider of the integrated sun visor can be found to the left, near the hinge.
The anti-allergenic, removable and washable lining provides additional comfort. It runs all the way to the base, following the motorcycle helmet shell that reaches all the way to the neck.

For maintenance of this helmet we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the exterior. For cleaning the interior, without removing it, you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment is less effective after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from streetlights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
