This jet helmet has a transparent visor as well as an integrated sun visor. The latter is easy to remove, should you feel that’s a useful option during a certain period of the year. The transparent visor is one that runs long, up to below the helmet shell and offers great protection. One whole gear from the traffic lights is perfectly possible without having to catch your breath.
The helmet shell is made of polymer. There are five helmet sizes available, that add up to about 1250 grams on the scales. Still within limits, for relatively much helmet. Ventilation is more than enough, with a double top ventilation that is a bit unruly by sliding downwards to open. The riding wind flows through the entire motorcycle helmet to escape into the free world from the back of the helmet, through fixed openings. Except for the red lever to operate the sun visor – on the left behind the hinge – the Tread is a straight-forward kind of helmet.
The cheek pads extend beyond the helmet shell itself. This is also where the Microlock is located, making sure everything fits neatly. If you look closer, you will notice that the combination of integrated sun visor, jet helmet and budget leaves some room for improvement but then we’d like to refer you to the first sentence of this article.
For maintenance of this helmet, we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the exterior. To clean the interior, without removing it, we recommend using S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment loses effect after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.
Safety above all! Never ride with a dull or scratched visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from street lights and headlights of oncoming traffic. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It’s best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip? Don’t forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
