It's a wrap! The Wrap is a flip-up helmet from the Hevik Light collection. One that is sold at a ridiculous sharp price but that does meet all the expectations.
Before we proceed, we want to make sure those expectations are correct: a flip-up helmet in this budget range has its limitations. You probably won’t have your most memorable ride with it, riding the highway all day. On the other hand, not everybody uses their motorcycle to ride across the world to another climate zone in one go, so maybe that’s not even a requirement. The Wrap is aimed for those who travel short daily trajectories, who want to flip up their helmets at the gas station and flip down the sun visor on the road every now and then. Without too much hassle.
Then this flip-up helmet is definitely a decent and very budget-friendly option. Thermoplastic is the helmet shell’s basic material, containing all helmet sizes. Complete with integrated sun visor, this delivers a mere 1650 grams. Within limits, we’d say, because the Wrap is a wide motorcycle helmet, where the space between the chin guard and your face is usually much appreciated.
Chin and top ventilation, adjustable and supplied with fine mesh deliver the required possibilities to organize the internal climate control. In the back, the riding wind exits the helmet. The chin guard is simply operated by the centrally placed red push button. If you lock a small lever just below the hinge point on the right, you can be sure the chin guard doesn’t flip down on its own. Beware, don’t confuse the lever with the slider on the left: this operates the integrated sun visor. With the wind curtain chin and the breath deflector, you have a number of options to vary.
The transparent visor has been equipped to fit a Pinlock®-lens. The visor lock is placed centrally, in compliance with the new safety criteria. The lining of the Wrap is removable, washable and comfortable. Soft as well, to make sure the Wrap sits comfortably. An adjustable chin strap is finished with a Microlock.
Adding all this up, there’s only one conclusion when seeing the price: it’s a wrap!
For maintenance of this helmet, we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the exterior. To clean the interior, without removing it, we recommend using S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment loses effect after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.
Safety above all! Never ride with a dull or scratched visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from street lights and headlights of oncoming traffic. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It’s best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip? Don’t forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
