This Adventure GTX easily ranks in the top category of waterproof (GORE-TEX) motorcycle jackets which, from the beginning of January to the end of December, will ensure endless enjoyable kilometers on your bike.
The exterior is still relatively similar in terms of material choice. Textile, on the shoulders and elbows in two layers, it is a logical and especially durable choice. The GORE-TEX story is told differently with this Adventure GTX: with a removable and autonomously wearable TEX® jacket, you actually get two jackets that complement each other. The outer shell is rather light, and with a mesh lining and 3D mesh on the back (moisture wicking effect!) the focus is on breathable comfort. Especially when you open the four ventilation zippers and use the (double sided) zippers on the sleeves, you clearly choose for maximum efficiency in the summer.
If the wind turns, you have the GORE-TEX jacket at your disposal. Closer to breathable waterproofness as it should be, you can hardly get any closer. The presence of a 'storm hood’ which can be removed from the back of the collar and covers almost the entire neck area with an extra layer, is an extra trump.
The Adventure GTX has been given a touring cut which reaches far enough over the waist and runs a little longer at the back. The centering straps with velcro are welcome and allow you to find a perfect fit. Especially since you can also adjust the sleeves (three times!) and your waist (drawstring).
The seven (7!) outside storage pockets, the two inside pockets, the Napoleon pocket and two additional pockets in the thermal lining all fit the philosophy of the touring rider or commuter who takes to the road every day in comfort.
Impact protection comes in the form of (level 2, EN1621-1:2012) “impacTec TP-02" shoulder and elbow protectors. The elbow protectors are adjustable. An impacTec TP-06' back protector (EN1621-2:2014, level 2) is a standard feature in a motorcycle jacket of this caliber. All protectors are relatively soft and flexible when not under load. Reflective material on the shoulders, back and upper arms is amply present and the Adventure GTX has a number of fluorescent yellow accents.
Striking is the connection system of IXS, where the motorcycle jacket on the inside has a (well thought out and unique) iXS-magnetic connection system ('iMC-system') that allows you to connect the matching Adventure GTX pants to the jacket without a long connecting zipper.
