The Traction is difficult to categories. Summery? Absolutely, because it's fully ventilated. But there is a removable hydratex® membrane. Sporty? Clearly, with shoulder sliders and a race cut. But no leather in sight. What about protection? At a high level. But light as a feather. A bomber? In terms of appearance, maybe, until you look a little closer.
The extra strong PWR|mesh, complemented by rib knit, determines a lot. The material (100% polyester) is wear- and tear-resistant but at the same time feather light and fully ventilated. A strange sensation for those who expect a motorcycle jacket to feel like armor. So, it takes some getting used to, but this is indeed a fully equipped and complete motorcycle jacket. The waterproof and breathable removable hydratex® membrane is a firm choice at REV'IT!
It feels light and flexible, that's for sure. Protection is more than adequate, though. SEESMART™ CE-level 1 protectors are standard at the shoulders and elbows, and you can easily add a SEESOFT® CE back protector or SEESOFT Air® CE back protector. The TPU shoulder protectors on the shoulders add to the Traction's sporty look. Laminated reflections - the logo on the back and the name on the arms - are inconspicuous during the day, and guarantee good visibility at night.
Adjustment options are limited. REV'IT! prefers sleek, short, and snug-fitting jackets anyway, and that eliminates the need for a hundred and one additional options. The upper arms can be tightened by means of a press stud, but the waist, sleeve ends, and collar are made of elastic material (bomber!), which naturally results in a nice tight fit. There are two zippered pockets and two inner pockets.
A connecting zipper is present, although the combination with a good pair of motorcycle jeans seems a logical choice. Hence the presence of a double elastic connection loop. The Safeway 2 is also a good option in that perspective.
