The Valiant has to be just about the most versatile helmet on the market. Summer, winter, city or highway, you can quickly and easily adapt it to your needs at any time. The Valiant is homologated as a jet helmet and as a full-face helmet.
The outer shell is made of KPA, a combination of three plastics (carbon, polycarbonate and ABS). This specific composition and a mixture of the right proportions results in a high-quality material, for a limited volume. This makes the Valiant considerably smaller (and lighter!) than its competitors. The helmet sizes are divided between two helmet shells to further emphasize the pursuit of "light and compact". On the scales it reads 1700 grams, but the feeling will be closer to 1400 grams. The reason for this is that the helmet is positioned differently on the head: it sinks deeper, so the weight is distributed better and is carried by the shoulders instead of the neck. Traditionally, LS2 helmets have an oval fit, and this Valiant is no different.
LS2 is narrower, lower, lighter and opens and closes much more smoothly than its nearest competitor.
From LS2 you may expect a top visor made of '3D Optically Correct "A-Class" polycarbonate'. Resistant to impact, without compromising clarity and sharpness. Scratch free, UV-resistant and vapor-proof, something you can also get on the inside thanks to the supplied Pinlock "70". The integrated sun visor can be easily lowered even with gloves, thanks to a handy sliding system on the left side of the helmet. The screen only protects the eyes and is tinted. It functions both under the normal visor and autonomously. Replacement or removal of the visor is quick.
The air vents at the top of the helmet and on the chin pad promote good air flow and are naturally connected to the rear outlet. They look sleek and can be operated with gloves. The second setting of the chin vent also allows an additional airflow along the chin guard and visor.
The double homologation - as a jet helmet and as a full-face helmet - implies that you can easily "convert" the helmet. You don't have to take the latter literally: no accessories or materials are needed. Quickly and easily, with one hand, you operate the patented flip-up system that opens the full chin guard 180°. The smoothness of the system means you can even make the switch during the ride.
The inside of the Valiant is made of a hypoallergenic, breathable material that has been cut to size and is easily removable and washable. A length-adjustable steel micrometric fastener with Microlock buckle ensures safety and great comfort. The latter is further enhanced by the soft chin strap. The neck edge improves sound insulation and significantly reduces the risk of whiplash. Unnecessary wind or annoying air currents are limited by a (removable) wind curtain chin.
All of this results in a helmet that is narrower, lighter and much smoother to operate than its competitors. The Valiant comes with a warranty of no less than five years on manufacturing defects. In other words, LS2 has a lot of confidence in this top model, and rightly so.
Some maintenance tips:
For cleaning the outside of your helmet we can recommend the helmet cleaner from S100. The helmet interior can also be cleaned, without removing it, with S100 interior cleaner. A treatment on the outside of the visor with Rain-X anti-rain spray improves visibility during rain showers.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor or goggles. Especially at night, scratches create a blinding reflection of street lights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a worn visor or goggles as soon as possible. Planning a long trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with tinted visors or sunglasses.
