The HJC CL-SP is specially designed for people with a larger head. It is the only full-face helmet available in sizes 3XL and 4XL. The helmet shell of the CL-SP is made of an advanced polycarbonate plastic, which provides a comfortable yet extremely safe helmet. The helmet sizes of this helmet are both made of the same helmet shell.
At the front the CL-SP features one closable chin vent and two closable top vents. On the back there are 2 non-closable air vents. These ventilations and air outlets are connected by the 'ACS' system (Advanced Channeling Ventilation System). These are integrated air channels in the inner shell that distribute the fresh air over the entire head of the rider.
The CL-SP comes standard with a transparent visor made of a scratch-resistant material. The visor has an anti-fog coating, and therefore we recommend not to touch the inside of the visor or wash it with aggressive detergents. Thanks to the RapidFire Shield Replacement System the visor can be replaced easily and without tools by a Pinlock-ready, tinted or mirrored visor. A treatment of the outside of the visor with Rain-X anti-rain spray improves visibility during rain showers.
The Nylex interior has a strong antibacterial effect, and is removable and hand washable.
The chin strap of the CL-SP closes by means of a micrometric Microlock, and is therefore very easy to adjust.
The temple cut-outs give the CL-SP a very goggle-friendly fit.
In some countries (e.g., France) it is mandatory to have reflective stickers on your helmet. The CL-SP is delivered without these reflective stickers. Reflective sticker sets can be found here.
Maintenance tips:
- Are you reluctant to disassemble the interior of your helmet in order to wash it? You can also clean the interior without removing it with S100 Helmet Interior Cleaner.
- The outside and the visor of your helmet should be cleaned with S100 Helmet and visor cleaner.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections of street lights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a worn visor as soon as possible. Planning a long trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
