The Schuberth E1 is a premium flip-up helmet designed specifically for adventurous riders who occasionally leave the paved road behind. The helmet shell is made of "S.T.R.O.N.G." fiber, a special glass fiber reinforced Duroplast matrix. The helmet sizes of this helmet are distributed over two helmet shells.
The Schuberth E1 has a ventilation system which is optimized for heavy duty work. The double, closable chin vent is equipped with a washable filter to allow the rider to enjoy clean air even in the most dusty and muddy conditions. Together with the large, closable top vent, the dual chin vents provide an abundance of fresh air. The air outlet, which is incorporated into the neck rim, ensures the removal of the warmer air.
The most distinctive and innovative feature of the E1 is the sun peak, which can be adjusted in three different positions independently of the visor and chin guard. When the E1's chin guard is opened, the sun peak moves with it and is an obstacle. The E1 can be worn with sun visor and visor, but the rider can also choose to wear either of the two. In this way, the E1 can be transformed from a thoroughbred flip-up helmet to a tough off-road helmet.
The Schuberth E1 comes standard with a transparent visor made of scratch-resistant material. Thanks to the Microlock system the visor can be replaced easily and without tools, possibly by a tintedvisor. The visor is designed to fit a Schuberth anti-fog lens, which is supplied with the helmet. Treatment of the outside of the visor with Rain-X anti-rain spray improves visibility during rain showers. Besides the normal visor, the E1 also has an internal sun visor which can be easily operated even when wearing gloves, on the left side of the helmet.
The chin strap of the E1 closes by means of a micrometric quick release. The chin strap is equipped with the A.R.O.S. system developed by Schuberth. This system ensures that the helmet, in case of impact, cannot roll off the back of your head, if the chinstrap is closed with the correct tension. This system also minimizes the risk of contact between the chin part of the helmet and the chin and neck of the rider.
The inner shell of E1 is made of different parts of EPS of different thicknesses. This modular design optimizes both shock absorption and shock distribution.
In some countries (e.g. France), it is mandatory to provide your helmet with reflective stickers. The E1 is delivered without these reflective stickers. Reflective sticker sets can be found here.
The interior is made according to Schuberth's innovative Comfort Fit concept which guarantees a comfortable and secure fit in all situations. It consists of a combination of COOLMAX and Thermocool material, which are both anti-allergic and antibacterial. In addition, the interior is removable and washable to give the rider the opportunity to keep his helmet clean.
The E1 is equipped for the installation of the Schuberth SC10U system. Using the latest Sena Bluetooth technology, the SC10U system serves as an intercom and can be linked to a GPS, a smartphone or an MP3 player.

Maintenance tips:
- Do you cringe at the thought of disassembling the interior of your helmet in order to wash it? You can also clean the interior without removing it with S100 Helmet Interior Cleaner.
- The outside and the visor of your helmet should be cleaned with S100 Helmet and Visor Cleaner.
Safety above all! Never drive with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections of street lights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a long trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
