If your motorcycle or scooter is often parked outside, the paintwork, seat and dashboard take a beating from rain, moisture and sun. The GIVI Rain Tech-X S205 is a motorcycle cover that shields your motorcycle from all of that.
The technical fabric achieves a rating of 10,000 mm in the hydrostatic head test: it withstands the pressure of a 10-metre column of water before any water seeps through. By way of comparison, a fabric can generally call itself waterproof from around 1500 mm, and 10,000 mm is roughly the minimum you would look for in a good ski jacket. The fabric itself therefore keeps out a heavy downpour with ease. According to GIVI, it also withstood 300 hours of UV testing, so even strong sunshine has less of an effect on your motorcycle.
An elasticated hem pulls the motorcycle cover in all the way round, and a strap with a click buckle under the motorcycle holds it in place when it is windy. At the rear, there is a transparent window, so your number plate remains visible. At the front and rear, there are reinforced openings through which you can pass a chain lock around your wheel, with the cover in place. Reflective prints on the sides and at the front make your parked motorcycle more visible at night. When you are not using the motorcycle cover, you store it in the zipped storage bag supplied.
A tip from the RAD house
Only put the motorcycle cover over your motorcycle once the exhaust and the engine have cooled down. This prevents damage to the fabric.
A motorcycle cover protects from the outside. It is not a hermetically sealed, waterproof environment, so condensation can still form. Using the motorcycle regularly is still the best way to keep everything in top condition.
Which motorcycles fit under size M?
Size M is intended for scooters with a medium engine capacity and for smaller naked bikes and sports bikes.
The motorcycle cover measures 245 cm in length, 80 to 128 cm in height and 58 to 90 cm in width. If in doubt, measure the length and height of your motorcycle, including the windscreen, mirrors and any luggage cases, and compare them with these dimensions. If your motorcycle is smaller, size S will do. If you have a top case fitted, choose size L, and for a touring motorcycle with a full set of luggage cases, there is size XL.
