This helmet comes standard with a clear visor. Tinted and mirrored visors are available as an option.
The SCORPION EXO-530 Air is the successor to the EXO-520 EVO Air. The changes focus mainly on refinement: an optimised helmet shell shape for improved stability, better noise insulation and more efficient ventilation, while the SCORPION EXO-530 Air remains an aerodynamic full‑face helmet with integrated sun visor and included Pinlock lens at an attractive price point.
The helmet shell of the SCORPION EXO-530 Air is made from polycarbonate, with all helmet sizes spread over three helmet shell formats. This results in a weight of around 1,600 grams, which stays reasonable given the feature set. The sharp, aerodynamic lines emphasise the various ventilation inlets.
Chin ventilation is operated with a single slider that is easy to use with or without motorcycle gloves. The top vents are also straightforward to locate and operate. Incoming air cools the inside of the motorcycle helmet and exits via the rear outlet, which is integrated into a small spoiler and remains permanently open. Compared with the EXO-520, the airflow has been optimised to contribute to a more stable and quieter ride.
Inside, the airflow passes around cheek pads that have another task. SCORPION’s AirFit system is a welcome extra: a small pump in the chin bar allows you to inflate the cheek pads to taste, while a valve next to the pump lets air out again. This creates a perfect fit, whether you are wearing a buff or a winter balaclava.
SCORPION uses a number of specific terms and systems. ‘Ellip-Tec II’ is the name of the visor mechanism. The clear visor is easy to operate and features a central locking tab that opens and closes with a positive, intuitive feel. Once you close the visor far enough, it clicks into place automatically, helping to maintain a good seal and clear vision even in wet conditions. A MaxVision Pinlock lens is supplied with the helmet.
With ‘SpeedView’ SCORPIO refers to the integrated sun visor. The slider is located on the left side, just behind the main visor hinge. Up and down, it could hardly be simpler. The sun visor is height adjustable so you can fine‑tune the level of sun protection to your preference.
‘KwikWick 3’ designates the interior. In the SCORPION EXO-530 Air it is updated and remains removable, washable and hypoallergenic. The lining of this motorcycle helmet manages internal moisture in a way that keeps things comfortable even in warmer conditions. ‘KwikFit’ tells spectacle wearers there are dedicated cut‑outs to accommodate the arms of their glasses.
A wide, well‑sealing neck rim, the adjustable micrometric buckle and the built‑in Emergency Release System for safely removing the helmet in an emergency all illustrate the attention to detail. A supplied breath deflector and chin curtain are both removable so you can tailor the motorcycle helmet to conditions and personal preference.
The SCORPION EXO-530 Air meets the ECE 22.06 safety standard and comes with a five-year warranty.
To maintain this helmet, we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the exterior. To clean the interior without removing it, you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment is less effective after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches or dull visors cause blinding reflections from street lights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. In rainy weather this effect is even more pronounced. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip? Then don't forget to bring a replacement one with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
