The HELD Tropic 4 Top is a summer mesh motorcycle jacket that focuses entirely on ventilation. For anyone who wants maximum airflow on hot days without compromising protection, this is a logical choice.
Mesh dominates the design of this lightweight motorcycle jacket. At the front, back and sleeves, large permanent mesh panels ensure constant airflow. Wear‑resistant, of course, and hung on a frame of HEROS‑TEC 600D material. You recognise the ‘600D’ that adds extra wear resistance where it is needed most. The rest of this motorcycle jacket lets the wind pass through freely. You’ll notice the difference straight away when the temperature climbs above twenty‑five degrees.
The fit of the Held Tropic 4 Top is sporty and relatively close-fitting. Letting wind through is not a synonym for ‘creating a parachute’. Adjustment options on the arms and Velcro at the cuffs ensure you can tailor the motorcycle jacket to your body perfectly. The soft collar closes comfortably.
Impact protection gets its own interpretation here. This is no motorcycle race suit, so HELD opts for D3O Ghost protectors at shoulders and elbows. Those are made from an adaptive material that feels soft until it absorbs an impact. Do not be misled: these protectors are stronger than they first appear. They are also height‑adjustable and meet CE Level 1 (EN 1621‑1:2012).
Optionally you add a back protector or chest protector to the HELD Tropic 4 Top. The necessary mounting points are provided. With an A rating under EN 17092:2020, this mesh motorcycle jacket offers a solid protection level, although you need to have realistic expectations of a construction that mainly consists of holes. This will not get you on the MotoGP grid.
Reflective accents improve visibility during evening rides. Two outer pockets, one inner pocket and a map or document pocket provide enough storage for the essentials. No excess storage, because a light, ventilated motorcycle jacket is best not stuffed full. The mesh lining also keeps the inside light and airy.
Waterproof it is not, of course. Comfortable, absolutely.
The connecting zip links the Tropic 4 Top to the matching motorcycle trousers. It goes without saying that you create a very ventilated combination that way. A pair of motorcycle jeans trousers is also an option here.
Below you will find an overview per jacket size of the appropriate CE homologated D3O back protector.
