The GIVI GRT725 Canyon Monokey is a robust, flexible 30-litre side bag, specially designed for true off-road enthusiasts. Using the Monokey Cam Side mounting system, you can easily attach the motorcycle bag to PL_CAM tubular side case racks — much like you would with the aluminium side cases you might be used to.
The PL_CAM racks are bike-specific and therefore, to be ordered separately.
The exterior of this motorcycle bag is made from high-quality, durable materials such as Cordura and Hypalon. Internal, removable plastic reinforcements keep the base and sides firm, maintaining the bag’s (bar-like) shape. The removable, waterproof inner bag with welded seams ensures your belongings stay dry even under the most extreme conditions. The main storage compartment is a single, undivided space — don’t expect extra pockets or compartments.
So far, so clear.
The practical and familiar roll-up system with buckles and additional locks keeps everything secure on the move. Locking the bag is not an option — nor is it necessary: a sharp knife and a soft luggage item like this make any attempt at locking the GRT725 pointless.
The detachable Hypalon front panel — in sand colour — protects the actual bag against impacts. This also clearly illustrates that this luggage option is aimed at adventurers and off-road riders. Along the same lines, you’ll find the M.O.L.L.E. system on the sides, allowing you to attach extra luggage like the GRT730 tool bag or a first aid pouch.
Behind the sand-coloured front panel of the GRT725 Canyon, there is some additional space, but with luggage options like this, it’s best not to overdo it.
For proper mounting of the side bag on the carrier rack, the Smart Security Lock mechanism is required (also sold separately). The fact that you cannot lock the side bag itself doesn’t mean you shouldn’t secure its attachment to the motorcycle.
In terms of volume, this is a generously sized motorcycle bag. With a 30-litre capacity (and a 10-kilogram loading capacity), it almost matches the standard hard aluminium cases in size. Its shape is similar too, and although it offers a bit more flexibility, you won’t be able to fit a motorcycle helmet inside the GRT725 Canyon. It’s simply too artificial, too rounded, and too forced.
The GRT725 Canyon is a forgiving luggage option — but not a free-for-all, as the back side firmly grips the contours and mounting system of the PL_CAM tubular side racks.
Reflective elements enhance your visibility in the dark, and the ergonomic handle makes the motorcycle bag comfortable to carry when you’re off the bike.
The GIVI GRT725 Canyon Monokey is sold individually. If you want a pair — left and right — you’ll need to order two. Both sides, however, are identical and interchangeable.
