SEGURA Palmer Black

The glove type indicates the riding conditions and seasons the gloves are designed for. This takes into account waterproofing, insulation, ventilation, and additional features such as heating.

• Gore-Tex: Premium waterproof gloves with an advanced Gore-Tex membrane that offers maximum protection against rain and wind, combined with excellent breathability. Designed for intensive use and long rides in a wide range of demanding weather conditions.
• Race: Sport-oriented gloves focused on maximum protection and direct handlebar feel. Usually not waterproof and intended for sporty riding or track use.
• Mid-season: Waterproof gloves with light insulation, suitable for cooler conditions in spring and autumn.
• Heated: Waterproof gloves with an integrated heating system, powered by a rechargeable battery or the motorcycle’s battery.
• Winter: Waterproof gloves with strong insulation, ideal for riding in cold temperatures.
• Summer: Lightweight, non-waterproof gloves with ventilation, suitable for warm and dry weather.

Indicates who the gloves are designed for. The fit and sizing are adapted to the hand, providing more comfort and better control while riding.

• Men: Fit and sizing adapted to the male hand.
• Women: Designed for the female hand, usually with a slimmer and more ergonomic fit.
• Kids: Specifically developed for children’s hands, with adjusted sizing and extra comfort for safe use.

This specification indicates how well motorcycle gloves protect against rain and moisture while riding. This is determined by the presence and type of membrane in the glove.

• Gore-Tex waterproof: Premium gloves with an advanced Gore-Tex membrane. Offer the highest level of waterproof protection and excellent breathability. Ideal for intensive use in all weather conditions, with long-lasting comfort and reliable protection against rain.
• Waterproof: Gloves with a waterproof membrane that keeps rain and moisture out. Provide reliable protection in changing weather conditions, but generally offer less breathability than Gore-Tex.
• Not waterproof: Gloves without a membrane. Offer maximum ventilation and comfort in warm and dry weather, but no protection against rain.

The lining refers to the inner finish of the motorcycle glove and has a significant impact on wearing comfort. It provides a pleasant feel against the skin and helps regulate heat and moisture while riding.

Gloves equipped with a waterproof membrane, such as Gore-Tex, are always lined. Leather or highly ventilated gloves without a membrane are usually unlined, allowing for a more direct feel and maximum airflow.

Indicates whether motorcycle gloves have been tested and certified according to a recognized European safety standard. Tests evaluate abrasion resistance, tear resistance, and impact protection.

• EN 13594:2015 Level 2: Gloves with a higher level of protection. Meet stricter requirements for abrasion and impact resistance. Ideal for sporty riding or riders seeking maximum safety.
• EN 13594:2015 Level 1: Gloves that comply with the European standard for motorcycle gloves. Provide a basic level of protection suitable for everyday road use.
• None: Gloves without official certification according to EN 13594:2015. Offer comfort and protection but are not tested under this standard.

Knuckle protection refers to the protective elements located over the knuckles on motorcycle gloves. This area is particularly vulnerable in the event of a fall or impact and is therefore reinforced.

Depending on the model, knuckle protection can consist of softer, flexible materials or more rigid protectors. Softer solutions improve comfort and freedom of movement, while more rigid knuckle protection offers a higher level of impact protection. The chosen design is always matched to the intended use of the glove.

Ventilation indicates how much airflow motorcycle gloves allow during riding. This directly affects comfort, especially in warmer temperatures.

• Perforated: Gloves with perforated leather or textile allowing direct airflow. Provide maximum ventilation but are not suitable for rain or cold weather.
• Ventilated: Gloves with breathable materials or ventilation zones that allow airflow without being fully open. Offer a good balance between comfort and protection.
• Non-ventilated: Gloves without ventilation openings that allow minimal airflow. Suitable for cooler conditions or wet weather.

Indicates whether motorcycle gloves are suitable for touchscreen use. This allows you to operate a smartphone or navigation system without removing your gloves.

• With touch function: Equipped with conductive material on one or more fingers (usually the index finger), allowing touchscreen use while wearing the gloves.
• Without touch function: Not suitable for touchscreen operation. The gloves must be removed to use a screen.

A visor wiper is an integrated feature on motorcycle gloves, usually located on the left index finger. It allows you to quickly clean your helmet visor while riding in rain or bad weather, without removing your glove.

• Rubber wiper: Equipped with a soft rubber strip that removes water and dirt from the visor for clear vision.
• Absorbent strip: Equipped with a moisture- and dirt-absorbing strip that gently cleans the visor and absorbs water.
• None: The gloves do not have a visor wiper function.

This specification indicates the color(s) of the motorcycle gloves. Color mainly defines the look and style of the gloves.

• Color: The actual color(s) of the gloves, for example black, black-red or black-grey-yellow, depending on the design.

The backhand material influences comfort, protection, ventilation, and durability of motorcycle gloves.

• Synthetic leather: Synthetic material with a leather-like appearance that is durable and provides good grip. It maintains its shape and does not mold to the hand like real leather. Easy to maintain.
• Leather: Natural material with excellent abrasion resistance and high comfort. It gradually molds to the hand, providing optimal handlebar feel and a “second skin” fit.
• Microfibre: Very soft and lightweight synthetic material that is breathable and comfortable. Offers high flexibility while riding.
• Softshell: Windproof and lightly water-repellent material that offers great freedom of movement and comfort, but is not fully waterproof.
• Textile: Lightweight and breathable material often used in ventilated or summer gloves. Ideal for warmer conditions.

The palm material affects grip, durability, and comfort of motorcycle gloves. A different material can provide better handlebar feel, higher abrasion resistance, or more flexibility.

The handback material protects the top of the hand from impact, wind, cold, and abrasion, while maintaining comfort, ventilation, and flexibility. Depending on the type of glove, materials such as leather, goat leather, textile, softshell, mesh, or other synthetic fabrics are used. The handback combines protection with flexibility and breathability, ensuring the glove remains comfortable and provides optimal handlebar control in all weather conditions.

The palm material determines grip, durability, and handlebar feel. Depending on the type of glove, materials such as leather, goat leather, microfiber, textile, synthetic suede, or Amara are used. The palm provides an optimal balance of protection, comfort, and handlebar control, making the glove suitable for all weather conditions and riding styles.

The membrane determines whether the glove is waterproof and breathable. For this selection, the gloves are equipped with Gore-Tex membranes with different technologies for specific features.

• Gore-Tex: standard waterproof and breathable membrane providing protection against rain and wet conditions.
• Gore-Tex 2-in-1: innovative construction featuring two separate chambers. An extra warmth chamber keeps hands warm in cold conditions, while an extra grip chamber on the palm and fingers improves dexterity, maintaining breathability and heat release.
• Gore-Tex with Gore-Grip technology: innovative construction method that bonds the membrane directly to the outer shell of the glove. This eliminates the “floating membrane” feeling, making the glove feel like a regular riding glove.
• Gore-Tex X-trafit: innovative membrane combining a tight, form-fitting cut with waterproofing and breathability, ideal for sporty use.

The lining in a motorcycle glove is an internal layer that affects comfort, insulation, and sometimes protection. Depending on the type of glove, the lining may be absent (as in some racing gloves) or consist of thin or thick layers of materials such as polyester, aramid, microfiber, Thinsulate, Primaloft, or other insulating fabrics. The lining ensures the glove is comfortable, keeps hands protected from cold, and allows moisture to escape, keeping the glove pleasant to wear in all weather conditions.
