The GIVI Maxia 5 is the top case that is part of the – evidently – fifth generation of Monokey Maxia cases and can only be used as a top case. With a 58-litre capacity, this is just about the largest and roomiest top case that cannot contain skis.
Don’t be mistaken: the Maxia 5 may look impressive sitting on the kitchen table; it’s an entirely different, tighter and lighter thing on the back of the right motorcycle or scooter.
Thanks to an innovative injection moulding process, the internal strength and weight distribution are highly enhanced. It actually feels rather light. In normal circumstances, there will be room to spare. Storing two modular helmets is no problem at all, just to name an example. Yes, at the same time. Interesting at a layover or convenient when you’re out with a pillion rider. This is quite literally a top case.
The pad at the bottom acts as a shock-absorbing buffer. The hinges have an automatic ‘stop’ and keep the lid fixed in its open position.
The Maxia 5 clicks and locks quickly and easily onto a mounting kit designed specifically for your bike With one single key, you operate a locking mechanism that locks the case as well its position on the holder (with two catches). It has a safety lock and thanks to the extendable handle, you can effortlessly carry this case when you’re stepping away from your motorcycle.
The most eye-catching covers can be painted perfectly which makes this Maxia 5 customisable to a certain extent. The integrated, tinted reflectors are available in silver or red.
A series of optional accessories are available for this case:
- Inner bag: due to its complex construction, an Outback case is not guaranteed to be waterproof. The T522 waterproof inner bag is. An inner bag also ensures greater comfort. If you want to check in at a hotel, you don't have to take the entire case to the room. Simply remove the inner bag (with everything inside) from your case and you're ready to go...
- Backrest: your passenger will certainly prefer the soft backrest E235S to the hard case.
- Document holder: this top case can be fitted with a handy document holder E236.
- Security lock: this case is already equipped with a security lock as standard. You have multiple cases? Replace all the locks on all of them with the same key.
- Trolley: with the trolley E206, your top case suddenly becomes easier to transport.

Watertightness: the GIVI side cases and top cases are not waterproof. They were awarded an IPX4 rating. Having the right expectations always helps prevent disappointment.
