This update of the Ignition, the Ignition 2 and the Ignition 3 is still a sporty-looking summery jacket with prominent leather panels and a removable waterproof membrane. With a thermal lining included in this package, this is a surprisingly versatile top product. This fourth version – the Ignition 4 H2O – was given an update in all the right places.
But, let’s start at the top. The short Ignition 4 H2O was given a touring cut with a hint of sportiness. ‘Adventure Sport’ would be a fitting category for this short, tight, sharp motorcycle jacket that contains – although not being 100% track gear – a solid dose of leather; besides a series of other purposeful materials.
Cowhide takes care of the wear and tear resistance and that apparent, sporty leather look that suits a motorcycle. The mesh material on the chest, arms and back is water-repellent as well as permeable and forms a solid construction (PWR|Shell). More than in previous versions of this motorcycle jacket because REV’IT! selected a new, more robust material. PWR|shell-stretch ensures a proper fit. The removable 2L Hydratex membrane keeps water away from your body. The thermal bodywarmer made way for a completely removable extra thermal layer with sleeves. More still: you can choose the precise composition yourself because every combination is possible. ‘Usable in all – really all – circumstances’, is what that’s called.
If summers nor winters are an issue, then that leaves the impact protection to classify a motorcycle jacket among the top of its class. With SEEFLEX™ Level 2 CE shoulders and elbow protection, REV’IT! clearly doesn’t drop the ball here. This motorbike jacket can effortlessly be fitted a SEESOFT™ RV OR SEESOFT™ Air CE-level 2 back protector, and safety seams were used all around, which makes the entire unit strong and wear-resistant. The reflective material at REV’IT! is usually limited to logo and name, as it is here. On the other hand, if these perform accordingly, you can be sure of proper visibility in bad conditions.
The Dutch motorcycle clothing manufacturer prides itself on anatomy, ergonomics, tight fits and an array of adjustment options. Velcro in the waist and a zipper on the sleeve ends are the most striking options and they are more than sufficient to make the ‘engineered skin’ fit even better. There shouldn’t be much play: sporty adventure requires a cut that fits tightly.
There’s storage space in the form or two zippable slash pockets, a document pocket on the inside of the chest and inner pockets in the motorcycle jacket itself as well as in the thermal lining, turning this into a very complete and versatile motorcycle jacket.
A short and long connecting zipper complete the package. The obvious first choice being the Ignition 4 H2O motorcycle trousers.
