The top cases that are shared with the world under the name ‘Riviera’ are a recent GIVI collection that turns heads: spacious, firmer than we were used to, and even with a large capacity, still elegant. As it should be, when your name takes us towards Italian and French coastlines.
This Riviera top case is part of the Monolock®-series and can only be used as a top case. The specific production system that uses moulds, called ‘undercuts’, delivers a remarkably more solid unit than we’d expect from these types of top cases. More solid, more rigid, with a top and bottom shell that noticeably and tangibly fit into each other better. It creates a robust unit that offers a lot of space – 46 litres of storage capacity – to a lot of things. You also notice the Riviera is an update by the new (integrated) hinges. The round shapes and lines look familiar and certainly increase the aerodynamics behind your back.
Inside the lid of the GIVI E46 Riviera, you can find a QR code to register two years of extended warranty on top of the regular warranty, which seems to illustrate the trust GIVI has in this recent top case collection. Worth mentioning as well are the red reflectors on the outside that thanks to a specific type of paint should last longer. Makes sense, if the top case itself has a long-life expectancy.
The E46 Riviera is waterproof and you notice the supplied soft and removable base liner. You can decide to (semi) fix it in place with a Velcro and adhesive, or leave it as it is for now and decide later. This fits two modular helmets.
There are a few of optional accessories for this case:
- Inner bag: this case can accommodate a handy inner bag T502B. The main advantage of an inner bag is that you can remove all the luggage from the case in one operation.
- Back rest: Your passenger will certainly prefer the soft back rest E207 to the hard case.
- Safety lock: you can replace the standard lock with a safety lock.

Watertightness: the GIVI side cases and top cases are not waterproof. They were awarded an IPX4 rating. Having the right expectations always helps prevent disappointment.
