The Newmont LF is one of those jeans you can wear always. Even when you do not have a motorcycle trip on the agenda. If you suddenly change your mind, that's no problem at all, because these jeans are extremely versatile and always protective.
Since this is a AAA class, you can count on an extra layer on the seat, the hips, the crotch and the knees, in the form of the PWR | Shield 2.0. AAA motorbike jeans, you can also say 'triple A', are still more the exception than the rule. Leather motorcycle pants get the same AAA certification, so it effectively means that you move a serious step forward towards a safe ride.
’What I gain in safety, I lose in comfort' - we hear you think. REV'IT's AAA jeans have a stretch lining, which comes with a lot of comfort and freedom of movement, so you'll be fine, both literally and figuratively.
The 'loose fit' Newmont are looser fit jeans that provide maximum protection. It doesn't matter if you're sitting in your chair or on your bike, it's comfortable anyway. A sturdy button and zipper close the pants and keep them closed, something that is always handy during a motorcycle ride.
Note the details: the color of the rivet buttons and the REV'IT! logo on the inside of the central button indicates the CE certification of these motorcycle jeans. Red is class AAA (which is also the class of leather), blue gets you to AA, and in black, class A still stands out as safe.
The height adjustable (there are two pockets) knee protector is an RV36 SEESMART CE-level 1 knee protector. Sleek and slim, and more contoured than anything REV'IT! has used before. The slight curve is an asset, especially in the close-fitting motorcycle jeans, although every pair of motorcycle jeans and wearer benefits from a better-designed protector. Especially when, as in this case, they are well-ventilated and fit literally seamlessly in this generation of motorcycle jeans. Protectors like these are custom-made, and come in left and right versions. Hip protectors are standard from the AA class upwards, and are of the SEESMART type, as is knee protection. That means: flexible, ventilated and tight.
The pockets - here the same five as on "normal" jeans - are reinforced at the edges. No attempt at protection, but an effort to give the Newmont LF a longer lifespan. Experience has taught REV'IT that frayed edges are actually more often the weak spot than effective sliders.
The ‘washing’ of a pair of jeans is an important consideration, and often a personal choice. REV'IT! has opted for a laser-washing process, which not only produces excellent visual results but also prevents premature wear of the denim. Denim comes in colors and sizes, and these may differ according to taste. Here it doesn't matter: used dark blue is the only option.
Another nice detail: the (seemingly leather) label at the back is in this case 'vegan approved' and therefore not made of leather at all. And we have been fans of the reflective stripe that only becomes visible when you turn over the pant leg at the bottom.
Using the Safeway 2-belt, these jeans can be zipped to your favorite REV'IT! jacket.
