The RO200 is an accomplishment of technological ingenuity, packaged in a motorcycle helmet that has been given a soft yet sleek design.
Two helmet shells contain all helmet sizes and those shells are made of fiberglass. ROOF mentions that this full-face helmet has seen the inside of the wind tunnel and certainly has some aerodynamic benefits at higher speeds. On top of the 1370 grams effective weight of the largest sizes, perhaps.
ROOF is not a fan of integrated sun visors, so it is fruitless to look for them. The transparent anti-scratch and anti-fog visor is a success. Finished with a silicon edge, it (really!) slides softly and without clicking or creaking into the desired position. When closing the wide visor, it reminds us very briefly of a self-closing drawer. Let us know if that's just us. Excellent ventilation, scratch-proof, clear and provided with its own 'fast remove system', this is still an eyecatcher.
In the box you will also find a Pinlock® lens and an extra Pinlock® Ready DAYNIGHT visor. At night, this prevents the often very disturbing light play of headlights and street lamps.
The edge of the visor - at the bottom in the middle - brings us to ventilation. The "dual function airbox system" is patented by ROOF and gives you a choice: either to direct the wind towards your face or to let it pass via the inside of the visor. A small but good click system makes the choice very variable. The RO200 is a fine example of innovation and you should really take a good half hour extra to discover every button and every slide on this motorcycle helmet. The double chin ventilation is (also double) adjustable, and the top ventilation - three openings - can be controlled individually. It provides a range of options. Even the air outlet can be opened or closed.
Wearing (sun)glasses is no problem in this type of motorbike helmet and this is no accident, because ROOF doesn't have a thing for integrated sun visors.
The lining of the motorcycle helmet is comfortable, completely removable and washable. That ROOF wants to frequently emphasize the term "silent lining" in this context leaves the best guess for your hearing. An emergency removal of the interior is provided and ROOF has chosen a Double-D ring aluminum closing mechanism.
For cleaning the outside of your helmet we can recommend the helmet cleaner from S100. The helmet interior can also be cleaned without removing it with S100 interior cleaner. A treatment on the outside of the visor with Rain-X anti-rain spray improves visibility during rain.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches can cause blinding reflections of street lights and/or headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a long trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
