This handlebar clamp is pretty much the basis of everything else RAM MOUNTS has to offer. Its shape makes it suitable for handlebars or rails. In other words: tubular shapes.

This particular product is meant for large handlebars, the types often used to steer choppers and customs in the right direction. It fits a round outside diameter of any tube between 28.57 mm and 38.1 mm.

Mounting is quick and easy, without many tools (hex key included), and the rubber pads on the inside of the clamp offer both grip on and protection for the mounting surface.
The other end consists of the distinctive 1'' ball that serves as a base for just about every conceivable attachment or accessory.

The ball is a standard size (1 inch), which makes it compatible with just about all GPS and smartphone holders, RAM arms, and anything else that may need to find a place in the motorcycle cockpit now and in the future.
