The X.22 Planet is a contemporary jet helmet that is actually closer to a good flip-up helmet than to a traditional bucket. And of course you get a lot of advantages in one package.
The X.22 Planet has an outer shell in thermoplastic and two helmet shells to accommodate all helmet sizes. In concrete terms this means: little ballast, a compact motorbike helmet and no extra weight. The scale however shows 1350 grams, which illustrates that this is indeed a 'lot' of motorcycle helmet. As in: like a flip-up helmet without chin guard, with far-reaching protection on the cheeks, an integrated sun visor and a large transparent visor.
We may skip the chin ventilation, but there is top ventilation. It can be opened or closed by means of a slider, which is easy to operate on the road. At the back - just below the aerodynamic bend - the wind leaves the helmet again. If you only look at the back, the X.22 Planet has a pretty sporty profile, with a clear neckline. The color scheme also matches this, especially in this version.
The transparent anti-scratch visor protects your entire face and can be removed or replaced without tools. Replacement is not immediately necessary, because the X.22 Planet has an integrated sun visor. The slider to operate it, can be found at the bottom left and even with a motorcycle glove it's easy to use everything as desired.
The interior of this sporty, jet helmet is anti-allergic, removable and thus easy to maintain. At the bottom you can see in the pleasantly wide neckline the detail work you may expect from GIVI.
A micrometric closure is the most practical for this type of jet helmet.
For maintenance of this helmet we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the outside. For cleaning the interior, without removing it, you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment is less effective after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from streetlights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
