The X3000 has its place in the 'Legends' collection of the legendary motorcycle helmet brand AGV. Since 1947, the Italians have followed the very best motorcycle riders and shared in their successes.
The 'X3000 Legends' revert to the authentic shapes of the past - with chin guards that can lie almost seamlessly on flat tanks - although the design also includes a lot of modern features. Comfort, protection and ventilation are in line with today's standards.
The X3000 bears the stamp of Giacomo Agostini, who indeed wanted a specific chin guard to be able to lie flat on the bike. The double push-button fastening of the visor (only at first glance) is also in the tradition of the top Italian rider of the 1960s and 1970s.
The fiberglass helmet shell comes in no less than three different sizes to fit the different helmet sizes as tightly as possible. You're either a racing brand or you're not, and that results in very compact, sleek and lightweight motorcycle helmets. Also because - vintage 1950 to 1970 - they contain very few extras.
Ventilation consists of an open/close ventilation slot in the visor. In the closed position it seamlessly connects to the ventilation slit in the helmet shell. It is best to make the choice before starting, as it is not an option to do so while riding. The visor is an anti-scratch model with two nicely finished snaps to secure the visor in the closed position. By the way, these 'two' buttons are only operated with the left hand: the button on the right is only there for the sake of symmetry.
A nice bonus: no rattling, no vibrating push buttons, no doubtful closure. It works, and it works well.
In other words, there is a lot of modern technology in a vintage design. You'll also notice this on the inside, where the washable interior - in leather and suede - reminds you of 'the good old days' only in appearance. It feels better than many high-tech interiors and looks great thanks to an embroidered logo.
The Double-D ring buckle is pure racing, of course, and while you may not have to attack modern speed records with this X3000, it allows you to imagine what top-level motorcycling felt like in the past.
This is a top motorcycle helmet, for enthusiasts with respect for tradition.
For maintenance of this helmet we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the outside. For cleaning the interior, without removing it, you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment is less effective after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from streetlights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
