’Full-face’ meets 'flip-up’, that must have been the idea behind AGV's Sportmodular. This flip-up helmet (only approved as such) is made from 100% carbon fiber.
The helmet shell of the Sportmodular has been extensively tested in a wind tunnel to be as aerodynamically stable and above all as quiet as possible. This results in a very sleek helmet shell shape. The same helmet shell - made of 100% carbon fiber - also comes in three different sizes to fit all helmet sizes. The result - give or take - is an astonishing 1250 grams. The 'collarbone safe profile' is also worth mentioning: the shape of the helmet at the bottom prevents you from breaking your collarbone in the event of a literal crash. That same profile (with two support points and a curve in the middle) makes a helmet donut no superfluous luxury.
The chin ventilation can be operated - even with gloves on - by moving the slider up and down. The top ventilation can be moved forwards and backwards for a similar effect. At the rear, the outlet vents are integrated into the adjustable spoiler. Depending on the setting you use there, the wind outlets follow as well.
Special attention was also paid to the visor. Anti-scratch, Optic Class 1, Pinlock® included, with a patented 'Extra Microlock System' and a 'Micro-opening' system - where you can guarantee a small slot at the front - a lot has been thought of. The mechanism consists of metal components. The integrated sun visor is operated with your left hand, at the bottom of the helmet. This tinted visor is also anti-scratch and, just like the transparent visor, you can remove and replace it without any tools.
’Ultravision' is an important feature of any AGV helmet: 190° horizontally and 85° vertically are the coordinates which best fit your field of vision. Good for a wide view on the road, the curve and any obstacles.
The entire interior is antibacterial, washable, sweat-absorbent, soft, comfortable and well-designed: Spectacle wearers will have no problems and with a removable wind deflector you have the possibility to customize the Sportmodular.
The soft and beautifully crafted titanium Double-D ring buckle is adjustable.
For maintenance of this helmet we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the outside. For cleaning the interior, without removing it, you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment is less effective after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from streetlights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
