The Traveller ST has got - for the sharp price it comes at - a lot of strong assets and extras. It makes it an excellent commuter, all-seasoner and all-rounder. In all circumstances.
Price/quality ratio makes this an excellent choice. Waterproof and usable from January 1st until December 31st, IXS gives you a lot of value for your money. The (soft) Tactel® and (harder) Hitena material that forms the outer shell is very hardwearing and provides an instant guarantee of protection. It's always reassuring, and in this case, the outer shell offers plenty of opportunities. The Traveller ST is a 3-in-1, so the outside focuses on ventilation: the 'air-system' consists of 'windows' of which the (lockable) hatches disappear in the shoulder if you want to make full use of them. On the back side ventilation zippers make sure the wind can get out. The system is good to very good and guarantees a motorcycle jacket which is more than capable of coping with Belgian summers. Especially when you also use the two-way ventilation zippers on the arms.
We did say the Traveller ST is an all-rounder and an all-seasoner, so we also have to deal with opposite weather conditions. And that is just fine. Thanks to a removable (breathable but waterproof) Solto-TEX® membrane and a removable thermal lining you'll get there easily. If you want to take it even further, there's also a removable 'storm collar' that provides an extra layer of protection for the whole neck area. If you don't need it, you can store the storm collar in a mesh pocket.
The Traveller ST has a touring cut, long enough and with two centering straps (velcro) on both flanks. There are extra adjustment options on the sleeves (three times!) and at waist height (drawstring). The (normal) collar has a velcro closure. With five pockets on the outside and another four on the inside, there is plenty of storage space available. All pockets can be closed with zipper or velcro.
Impact protection is provided by (level 2, EN1621-1:2012) 'impacTec TP-01' shoulder and elbow protectors. The elbow protectors are adjustable in height. An impacTec TP-06 back protector (EN1621-2:2014, level 2) is a standard feature of a motorcycle jacket of this caliber. All protectors are relatively soft and flexible when not under load.
Reflective material on the shoulders, back and upper arms is abundantly present. The Traveller ST was given a long connection zipper which makes it possible to combine with just about every IXS motorcycle pants. The Shape ST biker pants is a logical favorite.
Price/quality, this is a top-notch jacket with a lot of options.
