The Sherwood Air is the ventilated - actually 'perforated' - version of the regular Sherwood. And that means that this is actually a leather motorcycle jacket. Wind permeable, but still primarily black leather. It remains robust. Stylish and sturdy. This is not immediately a summer jacket, but it is a perforated leather jacket. There is a difference.
With the Sherwood and - for the same money - the Sherwood Air you choose just as much style and looks as you do functionality. More so: when it comes to technical terms, there are always better motorcycle jackets. More specialized motorcycle jackets, that perform better in the heat. Better in the cold. Better when it's wet. Better when it's ...
But the question here is: is there a black leather jacket that is better?
And then the answer is completely different. The Sherwood Air is a clean cut, 100% cowhide leather jacket. A bit matte, a bit vintage and something that has a life next to yours. As you would expect from a real leather jacket actually. It adapts, it changes, it 'settles' and it evolves. The removable thermal lining makes the Sherwood Air suitable for cold(er) conditions. Again: no extremes, but a pleasant addition to chilly mornings.
If you remove the lining, you can easily adjust the fit with the adjustment straps on the waist. The sleeve ends can also be adjusted with a half-length zipper and a press button. The jacket has two zippered outer pockets, a document pocket and an inner pocket, which provides more than enough storage space. Especially since the thermal lining has two more inner pockets.
Thanks to the thin SEESMART™ CE-level 1 protectors on the shoulders and elbows, you hardly notice the silhouette. Safety seams are standard everywhere, and those who wish can optionally fit a SEESOFT™ CE-level 2 back protector - Type RV.
A connection zipper is present, although the combination with a good pair of motorcycle jeans seems a logical choice. Hence the presence of a double elastic connection loop. The Safeway 2 is also to be considered in terms of connectivity.
