The BERING Boogie GTX 2 is a motorcycle glove for the mid-season or even winter. You do not have to choose between feel on the controls and weather protection here: this motorcycle glove combines both.
Who is it for?
This motorcycle glove is designed for men who keep riding after summer. Autumn, winter, spring … all are possible. These are not full-spec winter motorcycle gloves, but heated grips make up for a lot.
Material
The back of the hand is made from a combination of softshell and neoprene, providing freedom of movement and a good fit without compromising sturdiness. It feels soft and pleasant.
The palm is made from Amara, a wear-resistant synthetic material that guarantees firm grip on the handlebar. Goatskin leather returns as an accent, alongside polyester, polyamide, polyurethane and elastane.
Protection
At the knuckles, there is a pre-shaped hard knuckle protector integrated beneath the fabric, complemented by additional reinforcement in the palm. This motorcycle glove is certified according to EN 13594:2015 Level 1, the basic protection level for motorcycle gloves used on public roads.
Comfort & fit
Accordion panels on the fingers provide extra freedom of movement. You close the Boogie GTX 2 around the wrist with a Velcro strap for a close fit.
The cuff is short, especially by winter standards, making this motorcycle glove particularly suitable for riders who prefer a short cuff. It will meet your sleeve ends rather than go underneath or over them.
Weather protection & ventilation
The Boogie GTX 2 features a GORE-TEX membrane that is waterproof and breathable in all conditions. It keeps rain out without leaving your hands sweaty during an intensive ride. The lining consists of 100% mesh with recycled REPREVE® fibres, complemented by a padded thermal liner for additional warmth. This motorcycle glove has no separate ventilation openings: the GORE-TEX membrane itself provides the breathability.
Practical details
Thanks to the Sensor System, you can operate your smartphone or navigation system without removing the motorcycle glove. The grip zone on the palm provides additional hold, even in wet weather. There is no visor wiper.
Maintenance
Good, high-quality motorcycle clothing is an investment in comfort and personal safety. After your purchase, invest in its maintenance too and enjoy your gear for even longer. We have put together the best tips and tricks on this maintenance page.
The RAD specialist’s opinion
The Boogie GTX 2 is a motorcycle glove that the writer of this text absolutely likes. That writer enjoys riding with motorcycle gloves that still leave just a strip of wrist ‘free’. The Boogie GTX 2 cuff is a little longer than what we wear in summer, but then again, it is winter. Or at least cold and wet when we head out in these.
A shorter motorcycle glove creates a different feeling. Sharper. Tighter. More confident. That may be personal, but it certainly helps that the Boogie GTX 2 does not feel overly padded. You want to grip the handlebar, not hope that you will roughly find the right button or lever. In that respect, this is an enjoyable motorcycle glove. The GORE-TEX membrane does the rest.
Especially in combination with heated grips and a motorcycle jacket that closes neatly at the sleeve ends, you can get through any moderate winter climate with these.
