From track to public road
The RPHA-1 V2 Carbon is HJC's flagship integral motorcycle helmet, developed with direct input from MotoGP. Fabio Quartararo is the face of this performance-focused top model.
What does that mean in practice? A carbon shell, a rear spoiler for high-speed stability, a titanium Double-D ring buckle and FIM FRHPhe-02 certification. The latter is the strictest track standard currently available. With this, you can line up on the starting grid.
The Snow Diablo version adds a replica graphic finish straight from the racing paddock.
Track and street, sporty, fast rides
The RPHA-1 V2 Carbon is made for the rider who rides fast and takes it seriously. On the track, it feels right at home thanks to the FIM certification. On public roads, the ECE 22.06 approval provides the legal basis.
This may not be the immediate choice for the daily commute or relaxed Sunday tour: the double-D buckle, lack of an internal sun visor and race-oriented setup steer you inevitably towards performance and track use.
Carbon, four shell sizes, 1450 grams
The helmet shell is fully carbon. Carbon offers high rigidity at low weight, absorbs impact energy efficiently and is the material of choice for premium race gear. HJC divides all available helmet sizes across four separate shells, ensuring every size remains as compact and proportional as possible.
The weight is 1450 grams. The rear spoiler and robust construction add a few grams.
Visor
- Base visor: HJ-35, 99% UV protection, anti-scratch coating
- Pinlock: Pinlock 120 XLT MaxVision included as standard. This is the premium variant with maximum anti-fog performance and a wide field of view
- Internal sun visor: not present. A deliberate choice for a race helmet where every extra mechanical part and gram is a trade-off
- Tinted replacement visor: included as standard in the box
- Visor change: tool-free swapping
Ventilation: ACS
The Advanced Channeling Ventilation System (ACS) directs airflow from front to back through the motorcycle helmet. The inlets and outlets are tuned for high-speed use: the RPHA-1 V2 Carbon performs best with dynamic riding. At low speeds or when stationary, the system is less pronounced, which is hardly surprising for a race helmet.
Closure: titanium double-D
The chin strap uses a titanium double-D buckle. This is the only closure system permitted in track competitions and offers the highest reliability under heavy impact. It takes some getting used to for daily use, but for a helmet of this calibre, no other choice fits.
Interior and comfort
- Antibacterial, quick-drying and moisture-wicking fabric
- Crown and cheek pads removable and washable
- Extra semi-neck roll for reduced wind turbulence and road noise
- Emergency Release System (ERS): cheek pads removable for safe helmet removal by emergency services
- Glasses cut-outs present
- Intercom preparation: universal systems
Certification
ECE 22.06 and FIM FRHPhe-02. ECE 22.06 is the mandatory European road homologation. FIM FRHPhe-02 is the latest and strictest track certification, with additional impact tests and requirements around skull fracture risk. From 2026, this standard becomes mandatory in many FIM championships.
The opinion of our RAD specialist
The RPHA-1 V2 Carbon is a motorcycle helmet where HJC has deployed all available MotoGP experience directly. The result is an absolute top helmet that meets the strictest current standards, features a full carbon shell and uses no fewer than four shell sizes for optimal fit per size.
The Snow Diablo version is a matter of taste. No need to debate that. It certainly stands out, and enthusiasts immediately think of the MotoGP paddock.
The price is premium, but so is the motorcycle helmet. This is not for everyone. For many riders, the RPHA-1 V2 is simply 'too much'. Or 'too little': no internal sun visor, no micrometric buckle — the RPHA-1 V2 Carbon sets clear priorities. The daily commuter might consider it, but for those who rarely leave the city, tour at their own pace or ride occasionally, an FIM-certified carbon integral helmet is unnecessary. There are plenty of quality alternatives.
Anyone who consciously wants this finds few competitors in this segment. And then it is one of the most serious full-face motorcycle helmets you can buy today.
Reflective stickers and maintenance
In some countries (such as France), it is mandatory to fit your motorcycle helmet with reflective stickers. The HJC RPHA-1 V2 Carbon Snow Diablo is supplied without these reflective stickers. Reflective sticker sets are available here.
Maintenance tips:
- Dread dismantling and washing your helmet interior? You can clean it without removal using S100 Helmet Interior Cleaner.
- Clean the exterior and visor with S100 Helmet and Visor Cleaner.
Safety first!
Never ride with a scratched or hazy visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from streetlights and oncoming headlights. In rain, this effect is even more pronounced. Replace a worn visor as soon as possible. Planning a long trip? Do not forget a spare visor. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
