The Interphone SYNC55B (the distinguishing factor here is the letter -B) is a 5.5-inch multimedia display specifically designed for BMW motorcycles. So, this is not just a standard RideSync with a different mounting method. The SYNC55B clicks into the BMW ConnectedRide Navigator cradle and connects directly to your BMW’s system.
That integration provides two major benefits: the device receives eleven types of bike data such as speed, RPM, and tyre pressure, and you operate the screen using the BMW MultiController: the scroll wheel on your left handlebar.
Meanwhile, your smartphone remains safe in your pocket or bag. The SYNC55B screen syncs via Bluetooth and WiFi with CarPlay or Android Auto. Navigation, music, messages, phone calls, they all appear on a (sometimes) larger, and mainly more readable display. But the SYNC55B goes even one step further. The information it receives from your BMW can be shown in a digital dashboard. Speed, gear, tyre pressure, fuel range, lean angle... you see at a glance whatever you want to know.
The 5.5-inch IPS touchscreen is optimised for use with motorcycle gloves. The screen performs exactly as you expect, even with thick winter gloves. Of course, thanks to the BMW MultiController, you often won’t need to touch the display. The Interphone RideSync SYNC55B connects with the bike and can be operated in this way. Scroll with the wheel on your left handlebar through menus, confirm selections, adjust settings … All without taking your right hand off the throttle.
The data SYNC55B receives from the motorcycle includes speed, RPM, gear, tyre pressure and pressure alarms, lean angle, fuel range, coolant temperature, and odometer. This transforms the Interphone screen from a simple CarPlay display into a fully digital dashboard that combines your BMW data with smartphone functionality.
The housing has an IP67 certification, which offers protection against splashes, dust, and short submersion. It’s not diving equipment, so be careful with pressure washers and car washes, but it’s more weather-resistant than your phone. Its compact design—150x77x17 mm and just 182 grams—makes for a discreet fit in the BMW Navigator cradle. The SYNC55B works at temperatures from -20°C to +70°C, making it suitable for extreme cold and hot days. If you’re still riding then, you won’t need to worry about your Interphone.
The SYNC55B is compatible with BMW GS, XR, and RS models, mainly from the F and R series of recent years. Think R1250 GS, R1300 GS, F850 GS, F900 XR and similar models. The list keeps growing, so check your own BMW’s compatibility before you buy.
Note: The SYNC55B is supplied without a mounting system. You need the BMW ConnectedRide Navigator cradle, which is already mounted on your bike or needs to be bought separately. This isn’t a drawback but a deliberate choice: the cradle supplies both power and data integration, which a regular Quiklox mount cannot do.
