For those who never really left the nineties
The Alpinestars Stated Flair motorcycle shoes look like the high-top basketball shoes from the era of the Chicago Bulls and the Dream Team that took to the court in Barcelona in 1992. Jordan, Pippen, Rodman ... Anyone too young: look them up and have a watch between motorcycle rides. The hand-applied vintage finish gives each pair its own character. At the same time, the Alpinestars Stated Flair is a CE-certified motorcycle shoe (EN 13634:2017). Retro on the outside, contemporary on the inside — that sums it up.
Who are the Stated Flair motorcycle shoes for?
The Alpinestars Stated Flair is made for the urban rider who combines style and safety without wanting their footwear to scream 'motorcycle'. The Stated Flair from Alpinestars suits both the daily commute and leisure use, on and off the bike. These motorcycle shoes have no membrane and are not waterproof. Perforated ventilation keeps your feet fresh. It should be clear that better weather is ideal for these shoes. For rain or cold weather, you are better off choosing an alternative.
Premium leather with its own patina
The upper of the Stated Flair consists of premium leather with nubuck panels on the ankle and heel. The hand-applied vintage finish makes each pair more or less unique.
The vulcanised rubber sole ensures grip on the footpegs. The removable OrthoLite insole combines cushioning with breathability.
What about protection?
- Dual-density TPU ankle protectors on both sides of the Alpinestars Stated Flair.
- The Transversal Protection Frame (TPF) protects the midfoot area when it sits on the footpeg.
- TPR toe reinforcement in the most wear-prone zone.
- Toe and heel are internally reinforced against impact.
Laces and side zip
The Alpinestars Stated Flair combines classic laces with a side zip for quick on and off. The rubber-finished lace tabs suit the retro look of these motorcycle shoes.
The opinion of our RAD specialist
As a child of the nineties, this brings back memories. The vintage finish of the Stated Flair makes each pair slightly different, and gives them the look of having already done a few rides; exactly how it should be.
The Alpinestars Stated Flair also works perfectly off the bike without any effort. The side zip is a practical detail (one that slightly clashes with the true basketball look) and you only really appreciate it when you wear the Stated Flair every day. Chances are you will. Alpinestars has long been top class in motorcycle clothing and footwear. If they also make it look this good, it becomes hard to resist.
This is not waterproof, so it is not suitable for longer rides in poor weather. Fair enough. For the city, the commute, weekend rides and everything in between: excellent motorcycle shoes.
