A sneaker that keeps its secret well
The Ride-63 looks like an ordinary canvas sneaker, which is a deliberate choice. The CE EN 13634:2017 certification is there, so behind the nonchalant first impression lurks a serious motorcycle shoe.
Urban rider, summer, daily use
Anyone who wants to simply walk on after parking and dismounting the motorcycle is clearly in the right place. On the bike, in the shop, on the terrace: the Alpinestars Ride-63 adapts perfectly everywhere without standing out. No membrane either, or heavy constructions. These motorcycle shoes have no winter ambitions. For the daily commute or a summer city ride, they are perfect.
Canvas, nubuck and a touch of suede
The upper combines canvas (textile) with nubuck leather on the toe and suede at the heel. That material mix gives the Ride-63 its distinctive, relaxed look without sacrificing structure. Inside, a mesh lining handles passive air circulation.
Protection no one suspects
The ankles are shielded by TPU. On both sides, which is not very common. We are not exaggerating either: the TPU remains limited in size and thickness. The Transversal Protection Frame (TPF) protects the forefoot and supports it on the footpeg, without restricting gear-shifting freedom. The reinforced toe adds wear-resistance up front. It is all invisible but definitely present. And it makes the Ride-63 absolutely a motorcycle shoe.
The sole does its job
The vulcanised rubber sole is oil-resistant. The texture provides grip on the footpeg. The build with a PU midsole, heel cup and PP insole provides a solid foundation. On top of that lies a removable OrthoLite® insole that retains shape and cushioning even after a full day of walking. The Ride-63 is comfortable on the bike and off it. The left foot has gear-shifter reinforcement.
Laces. Just laces.
The Ride-63 closes with a classic lace system. Eight eyelets long, though in this case eight loops. No side zip or quick-closure here: the laces are really in use. That requires a bit more patience when putting them on, but it also allows precise adjustment of the fit over the instep. Rubber lace tips keep everything tidy.
The opinion of our RAD specialist
Motorcycle shoes that do not look like motorcycle shoes: it is a crowded segment these days. The Ride-63 Canvas stands out as a motorcycle shoe thanks to the TPU ankle protection on both sides and the TPF that proves its worth in more technical Alpinestars models too. The Alpinestars Ride-63 Canvas Motorcycle Shoes have no zip and no membrane either. That is a given you either agree with or not. In the latter case, there are plenty of other options. For the urban summer rider who walks on and off the bike daily and does not want separate shoes for it, the Ride-63 is definitely an option. Especially if a bit of visual flair is allowed.
