The SPIDI DP Progressive Hybrid Leather motorcycle jacket is inherently a race motorcycle jacket, but one that offers a great deal of ventilation. SPIDI describes it as a technological masterpiece that pushes the boundaries of performance motorcycle gear.
Whether that is truly the case is for the riders and users to decide. However, it’s undeniable that full-grain cowhide leather (1.1 to 1.2 mm thick) is always an excellent choice when it comes to protective, tear-resistant, and wear-resistant motorcycle jackets. Typically, this material results in heavyweight gear. But here, strategically placed perforations and multi-way elastic softshell panels reduce the weight by half a kilogram. This is razor-sharp engineering, and for athletes seeking performance, it’s always a positive sign.
Oh, and the fact that the perforations provide ventilation and the softshell adds extra comfort almost feels secondary. Of course, it’s not. Just as the high-tenacity elastic Flex Tenax Nylon 6.6 sections on the forearms and the leather accordion panels on the back guarantee maximum comfort in the typical racing posture. Ventilation outlets on the back ensure optimal airflow. Top-notch construction!
The SPIDI DP Progressive Hybrid Leather motorcycle jacket is CE-certified to Pr EN 17092-2:2020 Class AA. The obvious racing and circuit connection is further emphasised by the external Warrior sliders on the shoulders. The removable internal Warrior Lite protectors on the shoulders and Force-Tech protectors on the elbows are standard. For extra impact protection, there are mounting points for a Level 1 or 2 Warrior back protector, and chest protectors can also be added.
This is a sporty, short-cut motorcycle jacket. It’s tailored to fit snugly and designed to feel that way too. The waist offers a few centimetres of adjustment. Other than that, no significant customisation options are necessary.
A connection zip and Belt Loop make it compatible with virtually all motorcycle trousers.
