Midland has been developing a variety of tools that allow for communication on the move for sixty years now. Their BikePlay Guardian is the 5-inch waterproof touchscreen display with mirroring feature that duplicates the screen of your smartphone with Carplay (iOs) or Android Auto (Android).
So; car features on a motorcycle.
The benefits? Less distraction and more options. You simply use the navigation app on your smartphone, make calls, send messages, listen to music over the radio or via Spotify … You are actually able to use your smartphone normally, over BikePlay Guardian, but in a safe way. The system is also compatible with voice commands – Siri and Google Assistant – so feel free to say your instructions out loud while paying attention to the road. It’s always possible to use your touchscreen manually. The display is waterproof and can withstand quite a serving of splashing mud, bugs and even a proper wash.
Also included in the pack: two cameras with cable and two tyre pressure sensors. This means you get to monitor your motorcycle and your direct environment via your touchscreen. One camera in the front and one in the back, and you’ll control all functions through the app. Recording and registering images is optional (you’ll need an extra SD card) but the QFHD resolution and the antivibration algorithm offer great quality. The tyre pressure sensors are configurable and give a warning if a minimum value is reached.
