Everyone who ever toured through Spain, is familiar with the Osborne bull. There are about ninety of these fifteen-metre boards scattered all over the country’s hills. They are no longer there to advertise a certain type of brandy and they are certainly not related to this Segura Osborn (without the -e).
The Osborn motorcycle jacket rather reminds us of work clothing in an industrial style that appears to be American, right next to the place where they sell lumberjack shirts. Segura makes you believe that and categorises the Osborn – just to be clear: full-blown motorcycle gear – in the urban, workwear-inspired motorcycle jacket section that match style to functionality. The denim sleeves stand out, as does the lighter torso.
The exterior made of cotton and polyester was given a ‘body fit’ cut, which means that it should fit rather snugly. There aren’t many additional adjustment options, so the press studs in the waist, on the collar and the sleeve ends are certainly functional. The robust, wear-resistant material hides a perfectly comfortable motorcycle jacket, with an integrated, breathing and waterproof BWTECH Super membrane. The Shelltech thermal lining can be unzipped and although this Osborn doesn’t scream ‘all-seasons’, it can be your perfect companion for a lion’s share of the year. The breathability, the use of technical fabric, the waterproof layer … Even without direct ventilation zippers, the Osborn could be called a versatile motorcycle jacket. Probably not to go for the extremes but then again, who does that on a motorcycle?
The Segura Osborn motorcycle jacket has four outer pockets, two inner pockets and a napoleon pocket with zip. No lack of storage space, that’s for sure, and the connecting zip suggests that it can be combined with proper motorcycle jeans, pale leather motorcycle gloves and a pair of motorcycle shoes that resemble army boots. Let’s complete the picture with a classic motorcycle and there you have it. At first glance, an urban environment seems to be the natural habitat of this remarkable motorcycle jacket but then again, something inside us immediately considers the option of standing underneath the Osborne bull in this Osborn motorcycle jacket. Under the right circumstances, why not?
