The Namib by DAINESE is a summer motorcycle glove that knows how to merge an ergonomic design with lots of stretch and mesh, in two different materials. It probably won’t get much shorter, more ventilated or lighter than this.
The Namib motorcycle gloves share their name – not unintentionally – with the 2,000 kilometre long desert that is the Atlantic coastline of Namibia. Therefore, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that focus lies on comfort and primarily on ventilation. With clearly an adventurous streak. At the same time, DAINESE gets their knowhow and knowledge from a rich and long racing world life. This shows from the ergonomics that uses preshaped fingers and lots of elasticity. This combination creates a movable and flexible connection between the handlebars and the motorcyclist, through hands that experience almost immediate feedback.
The palm of the Namib summer motorcycle gloves is made of synthetic suede. The smooth surface is linked to the back of the hand, where there are two materials at play. Closest to the cuff, focus lies most on ventilation, right above it, this shifts to flexibility and elasticity. The natural border is formed by the knuckle protector, made of viscoelastic polyurethane that is just as flexible as the name suggests. So don’t expect a rigid motorcycle glove or any stiff parts.
Thanks to the presence of the Smart Touch system, there is no need to take off the Namib motorcycle glove to stay perfectly compatible with smartphones and touch-screen GPS systems.
The cuff is adjustable thanks to the Velcro but mostly it is short and made of the soft Airprene, which – you guessed it – is ventilated.
The Namib is a tight, adventurous, very summery and soft motorcycle glove with just enough material to make you feel safe and at ease.
