Style
The style of motorcycle shoes and boots not only defines their appearance but also largely determines their intended use and the riding conditions for which they are designed. Some models fit into multiple style categories. Our product specialists have therefore decided, for certain models, to assign more than one style to reflect the footwear’s versatility. Below are the different styles, each with their typical characteristics and applications:
touring |
| Main material | |
Color
Color indicates which colors are present on the footwear. Since many models combine multiple colors, a product can fall into several color categories. Below is the explanation:
black |
| Category | |
Type
The type indicates which main category the footwear belongs to, distinguishing between tall motorcycle boots and lower motorcycle shoes or sneakers. This affects protection level, comfort, and intended use. Below are the two types:
motorcycle boots |
| Comfort | |
Gender
The gender indication helps determine which target group the motorcycle shoes or boots are designed for, taking foot shape, fit, and comfort into account. Below are the available options:
women |
Waterproof
The water resistance of motorcycle shoes and boots determines how well they protect against rain and moisture while riding. Depending on your riding conditions and preferences, you can choose from the following options:
GORE-TEX waterproof |
Fastener
The closure system of motorcycle shoes and boots determines how they are put on, secured, and adjusted around the foot and ankle. Some models combine multiple closure systems to enhance fit, convenience, and safety. Below are the available options:
zip, velcro |
Season
The season indication for Gore-Tex shoes and boots helps estimate comfort in different weather conditions. Although all Gore-Tex models are waterproof and breathable, we have deliberately chosen a season classification that reflects actual use:
all season |
| Safety | |
Additional gearshift padding
Gear shift reinforcement indicates whether the footwear features an additional protective panel in the gear-shift area, designed to prevent wear and damage caused by the gear lever. The available options are:
yes |
Ankle protection
Ankle protection indicates whether the footwear features additional protective elements around the ankle, a vulnerable area in the event of a fall or impact. Depending on the protection level and materials used, the following options are available:
yes |
Shin protection
Shin protection indicates whether the footwear features additional protection at shin height, a vulnerable area in the event of a fall or impact. Depending on the material and protection level, the available options are:
yes |
| Performance | |
Ventilation
Ventilation indicates how well the footwear allows air to circulate and keeps the foot cool while riding. Depending on design and materials, there are three options:
not ventilated |
| Ergonomics | |
Raised insole
A raised insole means the boot features a thicker or elevated insole on the inside, without this being visible from the outside. This can help improve foot positioning and confidence when stopping. The options are:
no |
Adjustable calf width
Adjustable calf width indicates whether the boot can be adjusted at calf level. This improves comfort and fit, especially for riders with wider or more muscular calves. The options are:
yes |
Shaft height in cm
The shaft height indicates the height of the shoe, boot, or sneaker at heel level. This helps estimate protection, support, and fit of the footwear. The measurement is performed as follows:
20 for size 38 |
| Size recommendation | measure your foot and use the product specific size chart |
| Materials | |
Material
The material of motorcycle shoes and boots affects comfort, durability, maintenance, and protection. Below are the three main material types:
leather |
Outer material
The outer material of motorcycle shoes and boots largely determines protection, durability, and wearing comfort. Manufacturers use various materials or combinations thereof, depending on the intended use, style, and desired characteristics of each model. Because there is a wide variety of outer materials, no fixed option list is used here. The specific outer material is listed individually in the product specifications for each model. |
full grain premium cowhide |
Membrane
The membrane determines whether a shoe, boot, or sneaker is waterproof and breathable. There are two options:
GORE-TEX® |
Type of lining
The lining of motorcycle shoes, boots, or sneakers affects comfort, breathability, and moisture management inside the footwear. The most commonly used materials are:
polyester |
Double boot construction
A double boot construction means the boot is built from two separate layers: an outer boot for protection and durability, and an inner boot containing the waterproof and breathable membrane. This affects comfort, waterproof performance, and long-term use. The options are:
no |

The Arena GTX Lady is a high motorcycle boot with GORE-TEX in a classic style. Full-grain leather, pleasant quantities of stretch and mesh create the ideal environment to accommodate your feet all year round.
For ladies only (a first for REV’IT!) and so relatively refined, as are these motorcycle boots. The black, shiny full-grain leather has a lot to do with that and guarantees a solid, tight look for the Arena GTX Lady. Water-repellent material, whilst perforated on the side and supplemented with the underlying GORE-TEX membrane to make sure it breathes and is waterproof at the same time. Besides, ‘supplemented’ is not the right word when we’re talking about GORE-TEX, but it’ll have to do. Add the frontside in (accordion) mesh and almost all potential weather conditions have been covered. Just like the Arena GTX Lady, actually.
You can ride carefree for a long time with the Arena GTX Lady, get off and then walk the rest of the way. These obviously aren’t walking shoes but they are still comfortable, thanks to the firm and yet flexible rubber sole. The anatomically shaped OthoLite® footbed should take part of the credit too.
Reinforcements at the toes, heel and ankle protect the foot against unnatural positions and untimely collisions. The shin plate (thermoformed) is also a sight to behold. The Arena GTX Lady is a comfort-seeker that doesn’t compromise. Not in the sturdy, water-repellent zip that runs all the way down, not in the wide, covering Velcro strap and not in the detailed finish.
A striking but brilliant additional element is definitely worth mentioning: there’s a clear strip of reflective material next to the long zip. No elastic but just enough to bring the general comfort level up a notch. The little Velcro patch at the end of the pull can be placed under that same heading.
This competitively priced, classic motorcycle boot can and will deliver great times, in a wide variety of circumstances. No doubt about that. There’s no need to look at the weather.
