SAS-TEC 3D Back protector SC-1/15 (XL)

CE-certified protectors are classified by levels based on their shock absorption. The higher the level, the better the protection in a crash.

• Level 1 – Basic protection: Absorbs up to 20 kN (max ~35 kN on the body). Thin and flexible, suitable for normal street riding.
• Level 2 – Extra protection: Absorbs up to 50 kN (max ~9 kN on the body). Sturdy and robust, ideal for higher speeds or sporty riding.
• Difference: Level 2 dampens impact roughly twice as well as Level 1, but feels stiffer.

Protectors comply with the relevant European standards and fall under the EU PPE Regulation (Personal Protective Equipment).

• EN 1621-1:2012 – protectors for shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, tailbone, and other limbs
• EN 1621-2:2014 – back and spine protectors
• EN 1621-3:2018 – chest protectors
