The double P/J-homologation - as a full-fledged full-face helmet and just as full-fledged jet helmet - is a striking phenomenon, with the flip-back chin piece that also features on competitor Shark’s helmets. This means that the EXO-TECH Solid is above all very versatile. And it literally has a wide chin guard. Ah yes, because it has to go around the helmet shell. SCORPION has no choice but to opt for a slightly wider helmet shell than we are used to. This is only important - but it is important - if you are wearing a SCORPION helmet today that only just fits into your pannier ...
Otherwise, no worries. Two helmet shells contain all helmet sizes, which for a completely out of polycarbonate built specimen as this, delivers 1650 grams. So this is indeed a sturdy helmet, for versatile and frequent use. Ventilation is included to a large extent included in a flip-up helmet of this type and with the easy-to-operate chin and top vents you never lack fresh air or oxygen.
The transparent visor is ready to fit a Pinlock® lens, which can also be found in the box. Removing and/or replacing the visor is just a bit more work than 'normal', because an opening and rear-hinging chin piece shares a mounting and hinge point with the transparent visor. Again: no worries. It's all self-explanatory and SCORPION puts two extra 'stopping points' and specific tools in the box.
With the term 'Speedview' SCORPION looks in the direction of an integrated sun visor. The slider can be found at the bottom left. Forward is down, reverse is up.
Kwickwick 3 is about the interior: fully removable, washable and hypoallergenic, this helmet interior regulates internal moisture in a way that is more than reassuring. Even in warm conditions, by the way. A wide and well-fitting neck rim and the adjustable micrometric buckle illustrate that attention was paid to the details. The wind curtain chin is removable.

For maintenance of this helmet we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the exterior. For cleaning the interior, without removing it, you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment is less effective after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from street lights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. In rainy weather this effect is even more pronounced. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip? Then don't forget to bring a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
