This retro-looking motorcycle jacket is an homage to the early days of recreational motorcycling. But one with a very future-oriented, functional interpretation. A strong jacket - in many ways.
Style and taste, that's something to discuss endlessly. Or just not at all. The Livingstone Lady is a vintage motorcycle jacket. Classic, retro, fill that in as you wish. It doesn't look out of place on a Vespa, a café racer, anything with a bit of chrome on it. There is also a bit of British in it and a hint of airfield, so the sky is the limit.
Especially in the light sand color.
The exterior consists of hard-wearing poly-cotton. Resistant to tears, a dose of friction and even a lot of weather elements, this fabric exterior forms the basis for everything else underneath. The sturdy but soft fabric is also the (certainly visually) most important retro element, because furthermore, the Livingstone Lady is a fine example of technical motorcycle material.
Underneath is a Hydratex® mesh G-liner: breathable but waterproof and as an integrated membrane also the best guarantee for a dry arrival. And it doesn't stop there. Those who got on a motorcycle a century ago, did not have the option to use a removable thermal lining. The Livingstone Lady does offer that choice. It is a cleverly finished thermal lining, with an eye for detail. Pay attention to the sleeve ends with knitted, elastic and therefore well-fitting cuffs. Waterproof and warm, that's what we have.
’Beautiful' we have too. Or at least 'skillful'. The design is clever. The cut is - although shorter than you would suspect at first sight - very anatomically correct and the centering old school belt-with-buckle certainly helps. It feels good, it sits good, it fits good. Or at least it should.
The four front storage pockets - with press studs - conceal another two side pockets and are immediately the most visually recognizable element of the Livingstone Lady. The use of snaps is continued: the central cover flap, but also at the sleeve ends for example. It helps to accentuate the vintage, classic, retro feeling.
The impact protection is completely contemporary. SEESMART™ protectors on the shoulders and elbows fit perfectly here. In their flexible, soft, ventilated form, they are CE-certified protectors which allow a lot of movement, and are actually barely noticeable. If you want to go for an upgrade, you can fit a SEESOFT™ level 2 back protector. Everything is provided for that.
This is a motorcycle jacket that is pretty unique in terms of style. Matching pants would create a strange effect, so a good pair of motorcycle jeans, possibly complemented by waterproof overpants, seems to be the best combination.
