With the Triomphe we come to the big city. Today's jungle. With the Triomphe hooded parka, REV'IT! searches for - and finds - a contemporary interpretation of the motorcycle jacket ‘that-just-might-be-a-little-more-than-a-biker jacket’.
It's a pretty strong statement: the parka as motorcycle gear for the urban commuter. Caribou and seal skin, fish oil as a waterproof coating, they've been replaced by state-of-the-ART technology. Safety and style - with a serious twist.
Don't let the latter mislead you: the Triomphe may be a 'back to the future' archetype, but the outer fabric (PWR|shell) with integrated Hydratex® membrane is REV'IT! technology at its best. Add to that the removable and quite handsome lining, and you get a very complete and well-protective jacket. Just 'jacket', indeed. The Triomphe is not limited to the motorcycle alone. Far from it. This is part of the Dutch manufacturer's 'Tailored Technology': a stylish silhouette that hides a lot of motorcycle know-how.
Naturally, a lot of that know-how is focused on impact protection. With REV'IT's own SEESMART™ protectors, the Triomphe jacket guarantees CE-level 1 protectors at the shoulders and elbows. There is also the option of fitting a SEESOFT™ CE-level 2 back protector. All these elements result in a surprisingly lightweight jacket. One that focuses on the three seasons that are not summer.
It remains a parka, so ventilation is not an issue. Waterproofing, good insulation, ample storage space, lots of adjustable options, that's what we expect and that expectation is absolutely met. The (city) fit got a lot of attention and with a removable lining that in the first place signifies that you can make everything fit at any time. The central, internal drawstring ensures a (yes) centered look, but also at the bottom, in the waist, you'll find an elastic cord. Furthermore, the many press buttons stand out: solid, good, like we would always want press buttons to be.
The sleeve ends, the high collar, the fixed hood that doesn't catch wind on the bike, the subtle REV'IT! logo on the arm, the laminated reflection, and the long list of storage options make this parka a class act.
The Triomphe should indeed be used to take the famous roundabout in the French capital, although nobody will mind if you replace 'Triomphe' with the Atomium, depart from Amsterdam Central Station or pass Checkpoint Charlie.
Make sure you do it right, with a pair of motorbike boots and (waterproof) motorbike jeans. The beard and tattoos of the modern hipster are optional.
